Używacie Obtainium na GrapheneOS z włączonym Mullvadem lub innym VPN i ciągle wyskakuje wam błąd "Too Many Requests"? To efekt uboczny współdzielonego IP, przez co błyskawicznie wyczerpuje się limit anonimowych zapytań do API GitHuba.
Da się to naprawić w minutę. Musicie tylko mieć lub założyć darmowe konto na GitHubie. Następnie wchodzicie tam w ustawienia konta, w sekcji Developer Settings otwieracie dokładnie zakładkę Tokens (classic) i generujecie nowy Personal Access Token. Co kluczowe, przy jego tworzeniu nie zaznaczacie absolutnie żadnych uprawnień. Taki pusty token wklejacie w ustawieniach dostawców w Obtainium. Wasz limit skacze z 60 do 5000 zapytań na godzinę i aktualizacje z powrotem śmigają bez zająknięcia.

Problem się pogłębia: teraz podobny komunikat zaczął się pojawiać nawet na #NewPipe na Androidzie. W przypadku smartfona wystarczy przełączyć się na dane komórkowe i przeczekać problem. Z komputerem jest gorzej.
Blokada IP ustępuje po kilku godzinach. Ale chyba bez #VPN-u się nie obędzie.
Oczywiście nie robię nic dziwnego, co kazałoby Youtube'owi (Google'owi) nakładać blokadę IP na mnie.

Today is my last day of Mullvad. I'm really stuck choosing an alternative. The best I've seen is ivpn - but have read comments about it being slow and only having a few servers. Maybe I should just sign up for a month and see. It's a shame that Mullvad just shrugged its shoulders about criticisms.
I'd appreciate recommendations for a vpn as a Mullvad replacement.

For those who are interested in the technical aspects of #censorship evasion: someone posted on r/selfhosted. The author talks about leveraging a "jumper" box that's within a domestic datacenter. That one has a tunnel to a foreign hosting service. It adds latency, but it's a reliable solution.
Another interesting aspect I learned about the censorship system from the post is that the nation in question has a "whitelist" mode that gets enabled on demand. (Regional) Internet silos can be splintered off from the global Internet at the will of the regime.
