WARNING: Apple MacOS 27 is reportedly loaded with massive, non-disableable Google Gemini AI SLOP Presumably Apple is paying Google a fortune for access to their misinformation SLOP machine Gemini AI, and Apple wants to make sure you can't opt-out. That's how the billionaire Big Tech CEOs operate. They stuff this garbage DOWN YOUR THROAT like they own you. DISGUSTING. Reports so far -- subject to change as I learn more -- are that unlike in previous versions of macOS there is no simple way to disable "Apple Stupidity" -- oops, I meant "Apple Intelligence" which is wedded at the hip to Siri. Also, reports are that the AI crap alone is taking 10s of gigabytes of space and comes right back when deleted. If you don't have a big storage Mac, this is going to hurt. Does Apple care? OF COURSE NOT. Like Google, it's all about keeping their billionaire CEOs living the lifestyle to which they've become accustomed and we could never dream of. You might let Apple know how you feel about this, for whatever good it does. If I learn more that changes any of this, I'll let you know. L #google #apple #gemini #ai

NPR Topics: News | A handful of American households pay for AI. Is the future free — or a subscription? by Stephan Bisaha AI generated summary, Read the full article for complete information. A small but rapidly growing minority of American households now pay for AI services, with about 3 percent subscribing to platforms like OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini and a 10 percent year‑over‑year increase in paid users, according to Bank of America Institute data. Early adopters such as technophile Kirby Plessas justify the roughly $40 monthly cost for multiple AI subscriptions, while most people rely on free tiers that impose usage limits and occasional downgrades. Subscribers gain higher‑capacity models, more daily messages, and advanced features—like custom‑tuned versions of ChatGPT for language tutoring—making the paid tier attractive for power users. Industry leaders, including OpenAI’s head of ChatGPT, predict the subscriber base could quadruple, but stress that free access will remain to keep the technology widely available. As AI usage expands, businesses are exploring other revenue models such as bundling AI with existing subscriptions or modest advertising, though concerns about ads’ impact on user experience persist. Times of India | Hack of the day: Ask Gemini questions about a Youtube video AI generated summary, Read the full article for complete information. The Times of India’s “Hack of the Day” series introduces a quick, practical solution for cutting through You‑tube overload: using Google’s Gemini to analyze any You‑Tube video, playlist or channel and answer direct questions. Gemini can generate a summary, highlight key steps, list pros and cons, or even produce study notes, letting users get the information they need without re‑watching lengthy videos. To use it, open the Gemini app or website, paste the video link (or ask Gemini to find one), request the desired output, and follow up with specific queries; however, users are advised to verify important claims by checking the original video or other reliable sources, as AI‑generated summaries should complement—not replace—fact‑checking. Feed: All Latest | I Cloned Myself With Gemini’s AI Avatar Tool. The Result Was Unnervingly Me by Reece Rogers AI generated summary, Read the full article for complete information. Reece Rogers recounts his experience using Google’s Gemini app to create a digital clone of himself via the new Avatar feature, which lets subscribers generate short, lifelike videos of their likeness. After paying $20 a month for the AI Pro plan and spending a few minutes recording himself in a well‑lit room, he produced two 10‑second clips—one of himself singing “Happy Birthday” to a dinosaur in San Francisco’s Dolores Park and another of himself surfing beneath the Golden Gate Bridge—both rendered with photorealistic backgrounds but marred by occasional glitches and odd outfits. He notes the uncanny realism and personal eeriness of the hyperreal avatars, the subscription limits that reset every five hours, and Google’s claim that safety measures aim to prevent harmful deepfakes, even as the technology raises broader concerns about non‑consensual misuse. Times of India | Google changing how Gemini usage limits work: Here’s what it means for users AI generated summary, Read the full article for complete information. During Google I/O 2026 the company announced that Gemini’s usage limits will shift from a simple daily prompt count to a compute‑based model. Quota consumption will now depend on the complexity of prompts, the features used (such as image, video or music generation, deep‑research queries, and extended‑thinking modes) and the length of the conversation, with limits refreshing every five hours until the weekly cap is reached. Paid subscribers receive higher limits – AI Plus offers twice the standard quota, AI Pro four times, and AI Ultra up to five‑ or twenty‑times more – while premium features consume more compute and may deplete limits faster. Casual users doing basic text queries are unlikely to notice a change, but professionals using Gemini for coding, media creation or enterprise‑scale tasks will need to monitor their compute usage. The new system aims to better manage resource‑intensive features and encourage upgrades to higher‑tier plans, while keeping limits for users under 18 unchanged. Google is set to launch its first Android XR‑powered smart glasses this fall, beginning with audio‑only models co‑developed by Samsung, Google and eyewear brands Warby Parker and Gentle Monster, followed shortly by display‑enabled versions that combine cameras, Gemini AI, and Google’s Visual Positioning System for contextual assistance such as live translation and turn‑by‑turn navigation. At Google I/O the company also unveiled Xreal’s Project Aura, a mixed‑reality headset‑style glasses offering a full Android XR interface, hand‑gesture control, an OLED screen with a 70‑degree field of view, and roughly four hours of battery life, enabling apps ranging from media playback to generative AI‑driven image editing and immersive games. Both the audio and visual glasses feature built‑in cameras for AI‑driven interactions, and while many details remain under wraps, the hardware aims to be lightweight, capable, and ready for consumer release later this year. US Top News and Analysis | Google races to put Gemini at the center of Android before Apple’s AI reboot AI generated summary, Read the full article for complete information. Google is using its latest Android rollout to embed Gemini, its new AI model, throughout the phone, browser, car, and laptop, turning the operating system into an “intelligence system.” Ahead of the Google I/O developer conference, the company previewed Android updates that let Gemini understand screen context, move across apps, and complete multi‑step tasks such as building shopping carts, booking reservations, or generating a barbecue menu and adding ingredients to an Instacart list. The AI acts as an agent rather than a simple chatbot, but it always returns to the user for confirmation before finalizing actions, keeping the human “in the loop.” The features will debut on the latest Samsung Galaxy and Pixel devices this summer and later expand to watches, cars, glasses, and laptops, with Android Auto receiving a Gemini‑powered redesign that includes a major maps update and in‑car task assistance. Google hopes this deeper AI integration will help it compete with OpenAI, Anthropic, and Apple’s upcoming “Apple Intelligence” initiative while maintaining user control over what Gemini can see and do. Feed: All Latest | Googlebook Is Google's New AI-Powered Laptop Platform Built on Android by Julian Chokkattu AI generated summary, Read the full article for complete information. Google has unveiled “Googlebook,” a new AI‑focused laptop platform built on Android rather than ChromeOS, aiming at the premium market while keeping Chromebooks for education and business. Announced on The Android Show, the platform—codenamed “Aluminium OS” internally—will launch this fall on devices from Dell, Acer, Asus, HP, and Lenovo and will support both ARM and x86 CPUs. Key features include Android 17’s generative‑AI widget creator, the “Magic Pointer” that offers contextual suggestions when you wiggle the cursor, and “adaptive apps” that allow developers to deliver desktop‑grade Android applications with deeper hardware access. The devices will sport a distinctive glowing LED “glowbar,” premium materials, and tight integration with Android phones, enabling seamless continuation of tasks across devices, though iPhone users will see limited functionality. Google emphasizes that Googlebooks complement rather than replace Chromebooks, which will continue receiving updates for years. An article has been published[1] explaining how to prevent #Chrome from downloading the #Gemini Nano model on #Windows via a Registry change. But it seems to me that such a method is only effective for as long as Google respects that policy in the Registry, doesn't change its name/path, etc. Instead, has anybody tried creating an empty weights.bin file in the relevant location[2], and then removing all permissions from that file so that Chrome can't read, write, replace, or do anything else with it? US Top News and Analysis | Alphabet is winning the AI revolution. Here's how Mike Khouw is trading it AI generated summary, Read the full article for complete information. Alphabet (Google) is outperforming expectations in the AI boom, driven by surging cloud revenue and an aggressive capital‑expenditure plan that signals confidence in its AI leadership. Management lifted full‑year capex guidance to as much as $190 billion, reflecting a push for generational dominance rather than short‑term optics. The company’s cloud and AI services, especially those powered by Gemini, are growing faster than the most optimistic forecasts, positioning Alphabet as a clear winner in the AI revolution. To capitalize on this momentum, options strategist Mike Khouw recommends buying August $400‑strike call options while financing the position by selling a June 350/420 strangle—selling June 350‑strike puts (accepting the risk of purchase at that level) and June 420‑strike calls to reduce cost and generate premium, creating a modestly bullish stance that could be profitable even if the stock remains flat through June. Mercury enters Taurus on the 3rd, favoring practical reflections and more deliberate but solid decisions, before moving to Gemini on the 17th, accelerating communications and exchanges. On the 21st, the Sun enters Gemini, bringing lightness, movement, and new connections. Google just rolled out its Gemini assistant for Mac (already on iOS), giving the AI a native desktop chatbot experience, coming a year after rivals like ChatGPT and Claude made their moves. The app launches via Option+Space and offers screen-sharing, Drive and Photos file access, and Nano Banana image and Veo video generation. The #Gemini app trails in agentic abilities, remaining a chat-first assistant, while #Claude and #ChatGPT can directly execute tasks on users' machines. Google calls this release “just the beginning” of its desktop assistant push, with more features teased for the coming months. https://gemini.google/mac/

I updated my Accessible data crawling app for windows. Firstly, I made this self-contained because this was Developed with .NET Framework 4.8, and with me doing this It will have much better compatibility, so you don't need to do anything. remember that this was originally a Python script but converted to C#. Also I removed robots-rules.cs that checked if a website has robots.txt, So now you can pretty much scrape anything! I just scraped 6.14 GB of data From Wikipedia Which includes source codes and articles. Also you don't have to type http or https before the website name if you don't want to. I tried to scrape Sora Before it shuts down but it didn't do much. With all that said, This program right here is the real deal compared to my lil web scraping webapp With #Gemini. Click here to download! https://www.mediafire.com/file/wvc0i7ivjxgmkjf/AccessibleDataCrawlerApp.zip/file

What's so annoying about computer-assisted development using Claude and co.? That its context is so limited that each session it has to go over and read files over and over. It loses details such as we keep only thumbnails, not full images. It is not on par with junior dev, because junior dev would remember that if an icon is used once, it ios used always and not leave three files with different layouts. etc. etc. #ai #coding #llm #development #webdev #claude #gemini #codex #copilot #tools

Yahoo Finance | Ripple injects $250 million lifeline into billionaire twins-led exchange Ripple, the blockchain and crypto payments company, has expanded its credit line for the Gemini crypto exchange to $250 million, as revealed in a form-10 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on March 31. Founded by the billionaire Winklevoss twins in 2014, Gemini went public in September last year but has recently announced mass layoffs as it retreats from global markets, including the U.K., the European Economic Area, and Australia. The credit agreement between Ripple and Gemini was initially established in July of the previous year with a $75 million credit line, which could be increased to $150 million by December if certain conditions were met. The amended Ripple credit agreement now includes a higher interest rate of 7% per annum, up from the original 6.5%, along with additional collateral and operating covenants tied to the holdings and activity levels of the RLUSD stablecoin. If Gemini fails to reduce its outstanding borrowings to $150 million or less by July 2, 2026, the interest rate will rise to 10%. Gemini must also pledge company-owned RLUSD as collateral, hold it in a qualified custodian regulated by the New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS), and enter into a control agreement satisfactory to Ripple by January 31. Any failure to meet these conditions will trigger an immediate event of default. Beyond the credit facility, the relationship between Ripple and Gemini extends to a co-branded credit card launched by Gemini in August of the previous year, which attracted over 30,000 users in its first month. As of December 31, Gemini held approximately $154.1 million in outstanding principal and had pledged around $188.8 million in credit card receivables as collateral, with nearly $219.8 million in Gemini Credit Card customer receivables purchased by year-end, part of which is pledged under the Ripple facility. TheStreet originally published this story on April 6, 2026, in its MARKETS section.
