So now I need to move my #homelab. And I have two options:

1. Migrate #Mastodon reverse proxy from #nginx to #caddy (no documentation on this around the internet except uncertain assumptions).
2. Pay x4 for the internet for a business plan, where I’ll be able to rent more than one static IP.

So the question is do you, dear #mastoadmin, have a working example of Caddy config for Mastodon?

Built a primitive TOTP generator with Python and an Arduino Uno. It generates a code given the current time and a seed value, and displays said code on an LCD screen on the Arduino. It's been confirmed to work with a basic CLI-based login script, but I wonder how I can expand it to be more useful, because at this stage, it's little more than an extended display. I’ve almost got Home Assistant rigged up for me to yell “Red Alert!” and have it change all my hue bulbs in my office and the hallway outside as well as all of my rgb fans in the server rack to dark red. I'm considering getting an LTO-8 setup for backup. My home fileserver has about 40-50TB in it, and even with a "never restore" assumption the break even time vs "store everything in glacier deep archive" is pretty reasonable. Anyone gone this route and have opinions? #linux #homelab

This is the back of my 10" Mini server rack -- Custom made 3D printed power modules for each server I’ve seen so many 10” servers that look amazing from the front and very polished, but then having a rats nest of cables and a mess at the back. After 62 iterations and many 3D prints, blood, sweat, profanity and tears. I my design and implementation is finally done. I used Hexagons where possible, because as you know, Hexagons are the bestagons This is Before: And the After: The ducky adds 200MHz The front of my mini-rack is actually still somewhat of a mess, I thought I’d focus on the back first. I’ve published it in excruciating detail on my GitHub Leave a Star if you like what you see. I self host a bunch of stuff on here to get away from Big-Tech, and because I find it fun. For a lot more details see https://erasmus.works It always bothered me the the fronts of racs are modular, but not the backs, this solves that If you have any questions feel free to ask, hopefully this helps other clear up their rats nests.

pfSense leading the way with absolutely useless upgrade notes: "Certain hardware with a specific firmware problem, including some Celeron J devices, may encounter a kernel panic when attempting to boot pfSense CE software version 2.9.0." So "certain hardware" might.. not boot at all? And there is no list/table with which hardware has this problem? There's only one thing for this, get the trebuchet ready #homelab

Before my recent trip to Austin for work, I set up #pihole and WireGuard for a #VPN on a #Raspberrypi 3 I had sitting around. So I was able to connect to my #Jellyfin server and stream some shows from my hotel. (I unplugged the HDMI cable on their STB and pulled it into my laptop). Also, was able to use a VPN with pi-hole on my phone while I was out and about. Friends, it's one of the simplest and most impactful things I've done with my #homelab so far. Also gave me access to my music. Highly recommend it. The rP3 handled it all with no issues at all
