Was mache ich falsch? (Heltec V4, aktuellste Firmware)

Was interessiert euch, was würdet ihr gerne mal bauen? 🛠️ #linux #opensource

Was sind eure Erfahrungen dazu? #meshcore #meshtastic

With the release of Firefox 151 with USB Serial, I was able to flash my Heltec v3 and get on the #LoRa #Meshtastic network. Now I'm really excited for my T-Lora Pager to arrive!

I bet it would be really cool if somebody modified the Heltec #meshtastic firmware so that it's broadcast in ad hoc open Wi-Fi connection with a dead drop public dashboard. Or even a #SecureScuttleButt node #ssb

The local meshtastic group is learning about the #meshtastic to #HAMRadio pipeline 😅 🗼📻

Have my own little #meshtastic node now, and I have no idea what I'm doing. I already want to upgrade my antenna.

Genuinely impressed with #meshtastic thus far. I've got a pair of ThinkNode M2s, and the antennas that come with them are literally bits of printed circuit board, and yet they've managed to get a surprising bit of range (maybe 300m) out of them with suboptimal placement and no special care. I can see that with a real antenna and an elevated position they'd go quite well. https://meshtastic.org/

Whatever stroke of luck that was giving my #meshtastic node access to the rest of the mesh is gone. Until yesterday there was an otherwise silent node out there that was forwarding packets to and from mine. I'm now anxiously awaiting my new antenna to arrive, because it feels wrong for my tiny radio child to be cut off from its friends.

Baby's first solar powered LoRa #meshtastic node. Still waiting on a better antenna.

So here's something I'm not understanding about #meshtastic. On channel zero, your primary channel will always broadcasts location even if you disable it. Thats what I read somewhere. So I figured I would put the long-fast public channel on channel 1 and not broadcast my location in public. This apparently breaks the interaction of the channels. So my question is now : If you're trying to communicate with somebody and you both have the same private keys but have assigned them to different channel numbers, does that break communications completely? Like, if you're a member of seven channels and your friends only on four and the channel numbers don't line up, can you just not communicate? This seems to be the behavior I'm experiencing between my 3 devices and the rest of the local mesh.

I should probably figure out a better setup for this. #meshtastic

Still troubleshooting radio or channel issues with the Heltec V3 #meshtastic radios. But I've got the Pi Zero Ws working so it can be the web dashboard for the devices in the network! :neocat_think_anime:

The #Meshtastic / #MeshCore rivalry is pure nonsense, just like saying that hammers are better than screwdrivers. MT is awesome for adhoc mobile groups and discovering nodes when I'm out and about; MC is perfect for large scale, stationary community meshes. It's never been an either/or thing. This is your tribal brain talking. Free yourself from it and enjoy.
