Today I joined the Open Monday at xHain (@xHain_hackspace@chaos.social) Hack+Makespace. It was great to discover the space, and I really appreciate that they set aside a day to welcome everyone. I hope I can join one of their upcoming events about using LoRa radio devices to build mesh networks! I’m particularly curious to learn more about Reticulum. Neu im Blog: Seit einigen Monaten schreibe ich an MeshCore Chat, einem Desktop-Client für MeshCore-Mesh-Funknetze. If the Internet disappeared tomorrow, what would still work, and how could we still communicate? I just watched a presentation by @vaurora@mstdn.social about the idea and would like to follow one of her suggestions: https://bowshock.nl/irc/#short-version Is there already an Internet Resiliency Club in #Berlin? I'm aware of #Freifunk and its established work. This seems broader and complementary: a group for practical experiments with mesh networks, offline communication, local services, and other ways to make communication more resilient. I suspect there are already people working on these ideas in Berlin, so I thought I'd ask here on the #Fediverse. I'll also reach out on nebenan.de to see if there's any local interest. Hm, mein WisMesh Tag hat jetzt von Dienstag bis Samstag gehalten, jetzt sind nach einer Nacht aber schon 40% weg, nachdem ich ihn vollbeladen habe. Ich werde aber auf jeden Fall noch die Zephcore Firmware ausprobieren, die mir @molitorix@sueden.social empfohlen hat. Sonst bin ich mit den Teil ganz zufrieden, die Sende-/Empfangsleistung ist natürlich etwas schlechter als mit meinem Heltec v3, dessen Antenne ist ja aber auch an sich doppelt so groß wie der WisMesh Tag. Mit der Akkulaufzeit bin ich ganz zufrieden, habe ja aber auch wenig empfangen und fast nichts gesendet. Nur die Akkustandsanzeige finde ich komisch: Samstagabends hat er mir noch 40% angezeigt, am Sonntag morgen war er leer. Und wie gesagt, gestern Nachmittag vollbeladen, heute morgen angeblich nur noch 60%. Und die Button Belegung bin ich unter #meshcore noch nicht verstanden, also wenn da jemand weiter weiß... #meshtastic #meshnetwork #lora

With the release of Firefox 151 with USB Serial, I was able to flash my Heltec v3 and get on the #LoRa #Meshtastic network. Now I'm really excited for my T-Lora Pager to arrive!

Ob wohl jemand in der Umgebung von CH-5400 oder DE-501xx Lust hat mir einen Einstieg zu #Meshtastic zu geben? Ich hätte schon mal Lust mich ein bisschen mit #LoRaWAN oder #LoRa zu beschäftigen. Irgend ein kleines Relay an jedem Ort zu betreiben und ein mobiler Client der an einem Apple Macbook und einem Samsung Android funktioniert wäre noch toll. Da ich gar keine Ahnung habe, wäre ggf. ein Client toll, der auch Relay und Client in einem ist und per Wlan oder Bluetooth angesprochen werden kann. Aber an im Grunde fände ich per USB-C auch nice, ich kann ja ein Relay draussen platzieren und dann darüber mit meinem Client gehen, oder? Ich bin mehr so ein Learning bei Doing oder halt ausprobieren um etwas neues kennenzulernen.
