#heimserver aktuell macht mein ugreen Nas die Haupt Arbeit daheim mit knapp 30 dockern. Jellyfin, Paperless, Matrix Server, nextcloud usw. #homeassistant läuft über nen raspi4. Und jetzt hab ich mir aus jucks nen dell #wyse3040 geholt und weiß nicht wirklich was ich denn kleinen Knoppers zumuten kann/will. Jemand coole Ideen?

Fiddling with distrobuilder to build a custom alpine linux LXC image for use in Proxmox so I can more easily start using stuff, currently installing an Mosquitto server for use with homeassitant because I want to get rid of the HA-built-in MQTT server because I want to use a second instance with a newer HA version, and zigbee2mqtt can only connect to one server and....

... *gasps*
Now I'm afraid I lost stack of my brain-stack-trace.

A friend gave me a 3.5" touch-screen for a Pi.
So, now I have to build a mini dashboard that runs of a Pi3, to display some Home Assistant charts. Because #HomeAssistant itself on a Pi3 is torture, both for me and the #Pi.
But, in trying that, of course I run into stupid #CORS issues

Any recommendation for #SelfHosting a web app, useable on mobile as well as desktop for two people to collaborate making notes with basic WYSIWYG text formatting?
The purpose is to help us maintain notes for #renovation and #refurbishment of our home. We're mostly apart so I think it would help being able to edit a list of documents. Say one per room, and for things like lighting, heating, #HomeAutomation etc.
Anyone done this?

My #netatmo weather stations fails to show me data on the web and in my app because of a Cloud issue. Unfortunately, there is no local way to read the data (at least to my knowledge, the #HomeAssistant integration depends on a cloud connection).
I knew about the cloud dependency, when I bought it. But I am still still surprised that the outage is lasting for hours already.

Just got one of my more involved Home Assistant integrations online. We added a pressure transducer to monitor the water pressure for our pressure tank (where the well pump comes in). We have an Olimex PoE ESP32 there already and I decided to custom design and fabricate a PCB (first time ever) as a hat for an ADS1115 ADC and connectors.
It works! So we can now monitor our water pressure in excruciating real time precision. Just because.

Decided to recreate the energy graph that #Enphase provide in their app in #HomeAssistant, not sure why I waited 18 months to do this. Took me a couple of attempts to set up the helpers correctly and ensure consumption was always negative. Example from yesterday looks rather good, might make the numbers above the graph daily totals instead of 15 minutes averages 📈

Finally finished my home energy monitor project this afternoon. This uses the infrared port of my Elster R1S hydro meter, read by a repurposed Blueline Innovations PowerCost Monitor sensor. The R1S meter outputs a 100ms wide IR pulse for every 1mWh or energy consumed. Home Assistant uses the ESPHome pulse meter platform to convert these pulses into both power (pulse rate) and energy (pulse counts) readings. The ESP32 fit nicely into a repurposed Raspberry Pi case. #homeassistant #esphome

The LetsEncrypt addon (well, certbot inside it) for #HomeAssistant seems to need an additional Route 53 permission now, if you’re using that for DNS verification. My TLS expiry notification spotted impending doom and the required perm was complained about in the log file. Updated my IAM Policy for it and all fixed 😮💨

What a joyous sight! Our new Samsung TV will never see the outside world. It's connected to our network via ethernet, locked on a VLAN so Home Assistant can connect to it, but it can see nothing except my local DNS server (for now).
I've preemptively blocked its WiFi MAC address in case anyone ever accidentally tries to "help" by connecting it to the WiFi.
Fully working with Home Assistant. Dumb screen otherwise. Perfect.

I’m just getting started with #esphome. I have a bunch of esp32s sitting around. The central nervous system of this thing is this 8-way relay. I control it with 8 GPIOs off the pi. Closing or opening a relay on the elegoo will cause 24VAC to go to the right place and make the right thing happen.
If I can put esphome on an esp32 and control all 8 relays from that, I can do all the scenes and automation in home assistant. That would be super, because the whole family is all familiar with home assistant.
Is it that simple? Pick 8 GPIOs on the esp32, and wire them up? Then just control everything in #homeassistant?
