I mean, I *think* this is a well known trick in the Shortcuts community? But if you’re adding custom icons to your Homescreen to launch apps, adding the “Nothing” action first prevents a Shortcuts notification from showing when you launch it. #Shortcuts #Apple #iOS #iPadOS #iPhone

Here’s the other tech thing I had to help my mom with. She said that when she goes to the phone app, she can’t see any of the numbers to dial. That’s weird. It’s totally true. This is an #iPhone 13 or so. Running the latest iOS because she has auto update like a lot of people do. Watch what happens. The basic idea is that light mode seems to be broken. It sets text to black, but it somehow doesn’t change the background to white. Result: black text on black background. Switch to dark mode, and the text turns white, making it readable. I couldn’t figure out any better solution than to go to dark mode. I think she had chosen light mode because emails or texts or something looked better in light mode. I wouldn’t have believed it (or understood what she was describing) if I didn’t see it for myself. It makes so little sense that I would have had trouble believing her. Not that I think she can’t describe it accurately, but that this behavior seems SO unlikely to me, that I would assume she was describing something different.

I have suddenly stopped receiving verification codes and reminder texts on iPhone I have been through every "solution" I have found online. I can't log into several very important accounts I am at my wits end Today was to get certain small, but important things done. So far, it's been 7 hours wasted. The entire day has been spent trying receive verification codes I had the very first mac. I have stayed with apple through the power PC days, then the switch to Intel, the first OSX and all that followed. The first iPod. Many firsts... WTF #apple ? #iphone #crapple If anyone has any ideas, please let mew know.
