since i recently officially migrated an old account i suppose that this is an #introduction - #introductions post. here, you can call me spit. my pronouns are she/her. if you know me from elsewhere, you can call me as you know me from there. i'm not new to fedi but i decided to create a new account from scratch because something something the arc of reinvention. i am a composer, intermedia artist, poet, leatherdyke archivist based in the northwestern united states. my works focus on ritual, perception, memory and memorialization, immaterial labor, and the body. i perform/improvise mostly as a knob-twiddler and percussionist. i read a lot - mostly articles and poetry - and like to share what i'm thinking about in the process. i like to share works in progress in general, but i'm trying to get over shyness about it. i am not a technology partisan. i do my best to be polite. i like the taste of spit and brass and cowhide in my mouth, but also bolivian coffee and freshly baked bread. i have a thing for all things purple, because my mythos runs deep. i have decided twice now that i was no longer going to be afraid of death and i think the second time around it is going to stick. anyway, my latest works are about how we tell-retell stories to ourselves from our own perspective, how there's just one timeline, and how we deal with uncertainty. that's enough for now

My name is Sashin. I am functioning as a software developer but I am an aspiring writer. I am passionate about clear communication, left-wing politics (anarchism, human rights and anti-bigotry), free software and animal rights. I want to develop a deep understanding about how the world works, spread that knowledge and work towards making it a better place. I love anime and manga. My favourite manga is #onepiece which I have been reading every week since I was in highschool. My favourite anime is probably The Tatami Galaxy. I also like Ping Pong the Animation, Kino's Journey, Cowboy Bebop, Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex, Gintama and many others. I am have been learning Japanese largely on my own for the last five years. I've changed around how I have been approaching it, but have settled on immersion (lots of watching and listening to content in the language) as the best way. I do flashcards everyday using Anki, where I learn ten new words and review words I already know and I am basically always listening to something in Japanese so long as I am not interacting with people or doing something that commands a lot of attention (so while walking, cleaning, cooking etc I am always listening, I also have a shower speaker). I don't do anything every special with my attention when immersing, I think the subconscious is where the magic of language acquisition happens. I also love video games, I have a steam deck which I have more or less perpetually docked and connected to my housemate's projector. My favourite game is probably Undertale. I also love The Witcher 3, The Legend of Zelda and Hollow Knight. Anyway it's nice to meet everyone! よろしくお願いします！ #introduction #intro #introductions

#introductions Hi there! My first toot as I learn the ways of Mastodon. I run a bed and breakfast on the west coast of Scotland in Oban, Argyll (lucky me). When not busy with the B&B interests include photography, mainly landscapes with alt digitial/analogue hybrid processes such as cyanotype. I am grateful for my position in this life. I will uplift minority voices and women, over white cis-het straight men of a certain wealth and standing. Grumble somewhere else if this hurts your feelings.
