If you're looking for the next legacy build, in the future 4.8.x will likely be it. Mastodon likes to keep three releases going: legacy, stable, and current (plus nightly, which becomes current). With this historic pattern in mind as we march toward 5.0, which will become the current build, that would make 4.9 the stable and 4.8 the legacy. That is only speculation, of course. But I do know well enough, that moving to 4.5 isn't your next best move.
