📰 Geneva - "Israel persists in maintaining its illegal siege on #gaza, intentionally disrupting transportation and freight by destroying trucks and warehouses of transport companies: It also targets and detains drivers and blocks the entry of trucks, spare parts, and essential materials; this obstructs the delivery of #food, #medicine, and #aid through crossings to the people, risking a return to famine in the Gaza Strip (..)" #palestine #news Euro-Med Monitor AUG-09 https://euromedmonitor.org/a/7090

#chip #chips #tecnologia #technology #medicina #medicine #biomedicina

I’m not going to repeat the crazy stuff #RFKJr said. CNN should not have given him a platform. Everything that came out of his mouth was just wrong. #Trump #PublicHealth #science #medicine #PublicDisservice #eugenics #ConspiracyTheories #disinformation #USpol

I’m very sensitive to caffeine. It makes me anxious, but when I’m tired at work, a little can help. Today I drank just one can of Diet Coke and now I’m completely wired. My hands are shaking and my anxiety is through the roof--just ONE can! Meanwhile, I have friends who can drink two pots of coffee and go straight to sleep. I wish I understood the science behind caffeine sensitivity because it’s really weird! #Caffeine #Weird #Confession #Science #Medicine

On Tuesday, a group of >155 physicians, scientists & #PublicHealth advocates, organized by #AIDS activists who worked closely with Dr. #Fauci in the 1990s, issued a public letter defending him & condemning what they considered the #Trump admin’s relentless attacks on #science & scientists. #COVID #ConspiracyTheories #medicine #USpol #law

Early in the hearing, #RandPaul warned that there would be “repercussions” for Dr. Fauci’s refusal to testify, & then ordered the removal of his lawyer‼️, David Schertler, when he tried to speak up on his client’s behalf. The hearing, unusual even by the #Senate’s recent hyperpartisan standards, also featured #ConspiracyTheories & personal attacks, with Republicans taunting Dr. #Fauci as a megalomaniac & a liar. #Trump #COVID #PublicHealth #science #medicine #USpol #law

“the only conclusion I can reach is that the sole reason he is calling me before this committee is to get me to say something that could vindicate his repeated public pledges that I end up, in his words, ‘behind bars,’”Dr. #Fauci said Dr. Fauci told the panel that it pained him not to answer questions, but that he was doing so on the advice of his lawyers. #Trump #COVID #ConspiracyTheories #PublicHealth #science #medicine #USpol #law

Can you blame him? The man did his job. He did it well under terrible circumstances. Now they’re trying to blame him for crazy shit. #Fauci Repeatedly Refuses to Answer Senators’ Questions at Volatile #Senate Hearing #GiftArticle #Trump #COVID #ConspiracyTheories #InfectiousDisease #PublicHealth #science #medicine #USpol #law https://www.nytimes.com/live/2026/07/29/us/trump-news-fauci-hearing?unlocked_article_code=1.1VA.1LrC.gmre7FPUzryd&smid=nytcore-ios-share

"Paternalism occurs when the autonomy of a competent person is overridden on the grounds that an action is intended to improve their well-being. The risk of paternalism in healthcare is significant because of the power dynamic between a person in need of treatment and a person who is able to offer treatment within an establishment that is considered to be authoritative." "In this paper, I show that the appeal of alternative medicine to women relates to the neglect of women’s health needs within scientific medicine." Alternative medicine "is valued both for pragmatic medical reasons—because it is believed to be effective, it is assumed to have few or no side effects, it is deemed to be more “natural”—and for ideological reasons—because it is believed to offer control over health, be non-authoritarian, and improve patient autonomy by avoiding paternalism and universalism."
