Chart on the left is what a typical sunny day looks like with the solar panels. 54 kWh produced by 18 panels on my roof. Chart on the right is today (Aug 8), with no clouds, but very heavy layer of smoke in the valley from all the wildfires. Only 28 kWh gemerated. #SolarPanels #Okanagan #Wildfires

#Cuba - #Solarpowered #tricycles help #Cubans navigate #FuelShortages and blockades By ANDREA RODRÍGUEZ Updated 4:38 PM UTC, July 10, 2026 HAVANA (AP) — "Cuba’s iconic vintage cars have all but disappeared and in their place, small electric tricycles — most of them made in China — have become the primary means of transportation for hundreds of thousands of Cubans grappling with a prolonged fuel crisis. These are no ordinary electric tricycles — many Cubans have outfitted them with #SolarPanels, allowing the vehicles to recharge without relying on the island nation’s strained power grid. "The three-wheelers are a far cry from the old-timers that only a year ago cruised the streets spewing clouds of black smoke. " 'This is how people get around now,' said 40-year-old Liecer de la Cruz, who owns one of these vehicles. "The tricycles, with a cost between $2,000 and $4,000, are used to transport goods and serve fixed routes once covered by buses. "While their price is out of reach for most Cubans, many have sold their older gasoline-powered cars to buy the tricycles. Others got them from relatives abroad, where they are generally cheaper, and some small-business owners even used their profits to invest in them, expecting to recoup the cost." Bei dieser Art des Anschlusses darf die Wechselrichterleistung 800 VA nicht überschreiten. Zusätzlich darf die maximal zulässige Modulleistung der verbauten PV-Module höchstens 960 Wp betragen (dies entspricht der nach EEG installierten Leistung in Watt). Eine spezielle Energiesteckvorrichtung bleibt die sichere Option, insbesondere dann, wenn die Anforderungen für den Anschluss an eine Haushaltssteckdose nicht erfüllt werden können. Sie ermöglicht darüber hinaus höhere Modulleistungen von bis zu 2000 Wp —— Heißt das, wenn ich #Balkonsolar an die Schukosteckdose anschließe darf ich nur Max 960Wp an #Solarpanels haben? Do you have an example of stealth solar? I've been thinking a lot about 'stealth solar' where people attach #solarpanels to places in a subtle way to capture the sun's energy. It might be stealth as there are strict rules or just want to keep it low key. #balconysolar is sort of stealth gone mainstream. With cheaper MPPT devices you can now accept slightly poorer efficiency due to placement and with microinverters don't need to make long strings. I particularly think that there is no point having a solar panel in storage, best get it out there and generating even if it's in a temporary place! So I thought I'd start a small website that documents different stealth setups, so if you have cheeky solar panels and would be willing to share a little info (but not too much if it would get you in trouble) get in touch. #stealth #solar #solarpunk #balkonsolar #hiddensolar
