Interesting, someone custom built this thing with a belt drive. (fixie... those are pretty much impossible for me to ride on the hills here, lol) Appears to not have brakes, either. #BikeTooter

  • Is this a factor in drive wheel vs steering wheel? I.e. if they must be different, which should be larger?

Thanks to folk on Bluesky, we’ve a few days of journey data for London’s cycleway #C3 #CS3 on Victoria Embankment:

Tuesday 28 April: 11,952 journeys recorded; Wednesday 29 April: 12,782 journeys

(Video posted on Bluesky indicates that refurbished and rebooted totems may not be recording 1/4 to 1/3rd of folk cycling past in busy peak periods).

Wednesday 10pm scores from @lastnotlost@mastodon.online before another c240 folk cycled past.

Being so used to car-centric places, too much caution, thinking and looking in my part caused problems for everyone else. I've been to look at the road works on the A57 Manchester Road just west of Sheffield. There is a trench in the road and lots of fencing, but the route is open for pedestrians and cyclists. #Sheffield #Cycling #BikeTooter

Today's weather was really nice and the #assenliggers went for a bike ride as we do on Sundays. @twilwel@mastodon.nl, @TheoZw@mastodon.nl and Gert provided the excellent company today. My personal target for today was to reach a total of 0.08 Gm on the bike computer in my Mango velomobile, which was reached a few km before I got home. 84 km in total. My boyfriend has to learn how to use the brakes on his bike properly. They're worn off every few months, peeling off to the maximum. There's more than just break state 0 and 1. How can they wear off like that? This time the wheel was blocked because pieces of metal were stuck in the brake disk. #Biketooter

I have a proposal to prevent this.

  1. The most senior UK google exec takes the ponts and fines for any offence.
  2. The fines are proportional to income. 3.once banned from driving, the next most senior exec has to take the points.

23/04/2026: News from several folk on the Bluesky platform, including @westcountrytim@mastodonapp.uk, that the cycle journey counters on the London's cycleways C3 Victoria Embankment and C6 Blackfriars Road were restarted this week. The counters have been offline for many months, but have now been upgraded with new displays which show today's and year-to-date (or restart to date) totals together. #CS3Count #CS6Count #TfL #LondonCycling #BikeTooter #BikeTootUK
