#Transport for #London (TfL) and the Metropolitan Police are trialling advanced radar-based speed cameras at 10 high-risk sites across the capital, including boroughs like Haringey, Croydon, and Hackney. Positioned on 20mph and 30mph roads, these cameras aim to curb dangerous driving, which contributed to nearly half of London’s fatal collisions in 2024. ​The new technology utilises 4D radar and 4K colour sensors, eliminating the need for road markings or visible flashes. Capable of monitoring five lanes simultaneously in both directions, the cameras provide high-resolution evidence for enforcement. Greater #London Authority Freedom of Information release: The GLA has disclosed which roles in the Mayor’s Office are classed as politically restricted under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989. These include advisers to the Mayor covering briefing, casework and political affairs, along with senior advisers responsible for communications, digital media and staffing. The list also includes Mayoral Heads overseeing areas such as news media, marketing, strategic communications, operations, policy, political affairs and digital services, as well as the Chief Digital Officer. Senior leadership roles including the Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff, assistant chiefs of staff and several Deputy Mayors across portfolios such as housing, transport, business, culture, planning and environment are also designated as politically restricted.
