Anyone traveling to #spain for the #eclipse that could pick up 2 ppl to share a ride. I can't disclose location here, and you would have to get in contact by sending a DM to establish a connection over simplex or signal to figure out if a fitting pickup location could be found. Sadly we are too broke to pay for the whole travel route but might be able to get to a fitting pickup location. #solareclipse #rideshare #tramping #travel

#Spain imposes temporary border checks on travelers from #Italy after Italy introduced similar controls on arrivals from Spain amid a dispute over migration policy following the mass arrival of migrants in Ceuta. https://en-wp.orghttps//en-wp.org/wiki/2026_Morocco–Spain_border_incident https://en-wp.orghttps//en-wp.org/wiki/Italy–Spain_relations https://newsasfacts.com/news/159626

This is astonishing! Here's a map of all the overnight (sleeper) trains you can now take in Europe. So many in eastern and central Europe. (Few, however, out of #France and none in #Spain, #Portugal.) https://back-on-track.eu/night-train-map/ Before 2020, routes were disappearing. Thanks to... 🧵

#Europe is so obsessed with the discussion of the #Ceuta incident, not because it was a proper crisis which demanded a better political response than the one it got; rather, because it has stripped the #EU of its perennial mask of #hypocrisy, openly exposing all of its ugly, racist face. And they're aware of that. If this was mainland #Spain we were talking about, maybe the panic would've been... maybe not justified, but perhaps expectable to a degree. But the events took place in #Africa, where the spaniards happen to keep a colony in the midst of what should be the moroccans own land. And there the moroccans drowned, and were expelled, as if they were a plague roaming the house instead of legitimate owners of the land. That the entire world had seen this development on their TV screens, is what makes europeans uncomfortable. Not the handling of the crisis. But the fact that the mainstream was exposed, in front of the world, as being in no way different to the radical right.

1/2 #Spain #Norway According to the Norwegian Foreign Minister, there is a high probability that #Russia is behind the incident in the Spanish enclave of Ceuta in North Africa.

EU Home Affairs Ministers admit they failed in handling a hybrid attack: "Crisis communication could further be reinforced through timely coordination and should be more coherent, especially to counter malicious external actors engaged in foreign information manipulation and interference." #Ceuta #Spain #EUpol #EU #HybridWar #security https://www.consilium.europa.eu/en/meetings/jha/2026/08/04/

The ministerial EU meeting on #Ceuta has just finished, and Spain has come out of it in a very good position. "We commend #Spain for their swift response to the situation in #Ceuta and extend our deepest condolences for the tragic loss of life." "communication [..] could further be reinforced [..] and [..] more coherent, especially to counter malicious external actors engaged in foreign information manipulation and interference" tl;dr: "we fucked up" #EUpol https://www.consilium.europa.eu/en/meetings/jha/2026/08/04/

never in a million years did i dream that my PhD studies in Iberoamerican colonialism and Latin American arts and culture would prepare me for this moment. yet, i did go into Latin American Studies because i wanted to study how exactly did 13 backwater English colonies became an empire. and 1898 is the key. you cannot understand USA without understanding it’s relationship NOT to the UK but #SPAIN #MAGA is a subset of the gringolarchy that has always been OBSESSED with 1492 Castilla y León…

Is funny how a few thousand migrants, poor people, are such a scare for Europe Maybe they should go after the millionaires and billionaires who hoard all resources, consume the most power, influence politics, and enslave so many people in Europe by holding them hostage with low wages. That's a crisis, not some poor people who seek for a better life. #ceuta #spain #europe #eu #billionaires #trom #tromsite

If #Spain had been led by the #PP, the attack on the border in #Ceuta would have prompted an outpouring of solidarity from right-wing #EU leaders. Instead, because Spain is lead by a left-wing government, all we got was pathetic political point-scoring and lies about a threat to #Schengen The reaction of some #EU countries was a shameful abandonment of EU solidarity at a time when it was most needed. #EUpol #Espana

RE: https://masto.nyc/@rejinl/117026794913427870 Spain is in Ceuta because it was part of Al-Andalus. after 1492 it became NOT a migration point but an EXPULSION point. #Morocco has been complicit with #Spain since the days of the Hapsburgs. they helped La Corona in #deportations of spanish moros, sefaradís and even iberian ethnic groups like basque, gallegos, catalanes. #Marruecos is to #España what El Salvador is today to #Trump and #MAGA #Project2025. Spain’s first sugar plantations were worked by moro & sefaradí slaves in Morocco. 🧵…

recently came across academic research on the last pogrom and expulsiones of Jews in Spain. it happened in 1898 in Galicia.

this is HIGHLY significant for a few reasons:

  1. 1898 is the year of the Spanish American War

  2. it is known the gringolarchy were doing everything in their power to destabilize #Spain and invade #Cuba and #PuertoRico

  3. #ManifestDestiny is tied to the hip of Sarmiento’s theory of #blanquemiento, which is #eugenics by #immigration

but more importantly 🧵…
