Three photo series of the most delightfully weird thing I've found on my hikes so far 😊 On a mossy rock in the middle of a forest, with no houses anywhere nearby, the top of a bottle was sticking up and when we lifted the bottle there was a little porcelain ballerina inside. How did it get there? Who knows. How long has it been there? Näkyvyyden hankkiminen ei ole tällä tavalla mahdotonta, mutta rutkasti entistä haastavampaa - erityisesti niille, jotka puhuvat esimerkiksi ihmisoikeusaiheista. Finland starting in 2027, will cease servicing the power transmission line towers that carry some international internet traffic to Russia. Back to #finland with today's #soda weirdness. This is Pommac, one of the sodas I definitely make foreign visitors taste when they first come to Finland. It has berries and fruits in it, what exactly is a mystery. But so is the taste. It's very often offered as a non-alcoholic alternative to bubbly drinks. It's been around since 50s in Finland, originally introduced in Sweden in the 20s, although the original recipe was by a Finnish-Swede.

The World's First #NuclearWaste Tomb Is Nearly Ready to Open With space for 6,500 tons of #uranium, #Onkalo is aimed at providing permanent storage for spent fuel from #Finland's five #nuclear reactors – three of them located in Olkiluoto. Spent fuel is planned to be deposited in Onkalo's massive network of tunnels for 100yrs, but operations may be extended if new nuclear reactors are built. We found ourselves at Lievestuore after the bitter disappointment of their amusement park's arcade. At this point we were closer to #Tampere than home, so we headed out to see how the Särkänniemi amusement park's new hobbyist run arcade fares. Now this was more like it. The old dolphinarium waiting area had been converted into one long lineup of pins and vids. The games were mostly 90s, but with some more modern ones and couple of classics in the mix. Everything ran with tokens, that were sold at the cafeteria. My only gripe was that the pins took 2 tokens each, with the base token price being at 1.5€, although the price went down if you bought them in bulk. The games were all relatively clean and obviously maintained, with very little issues in them, a lot better situation than with your average bar machine. #arcade #pinball #sarkanniemi #finland

Last Thursday we drove to Lievestuore, which is about 2 and a half hours drive from home. The Nokkakivi amusement park resides there and I've made a note about the "100 arcade machines" they've been advertising for as long as they have existed. I know the amusement park itself is more of a collection of old carnival-style rides, mostly for younger kids but the arcade got me curious. So we went there with the hopes of playing some pinball and maybe other arcade games and make a cool video of a proper, old days' arcade. I came back with this video. It's everything I shot of that place. I stepped in, was like "oooh, pins" and took a quick sweep before I went to play. After I was done and realized this was it, I was so damn disappointed I just wanted to walk. The "100 arcade games" apparently included non-functional ornaments over the walls. There were really maybe 20+ games total, most of them vids or claw machines. They had 7 pins, out of which 2 were on and all those 2 needed was a mercy shot at this point. #arcade #pinball #finland

Unused finnish crown jewels. In 1918 after #Finland declared independence from #Russia, there were plans on a monarchy including a prince from #Germany. In 1990 this crown was created from the original drawings from 1918. We happended to see it on our roadtrip through #Kemi and #LumiLinna . #history
