A new skull study. An amalgam of a photo ref and a cute little plastic skull that arrived yesterday. This drawing is pen and ink using a Gillott 170 nib. Nice to use real ink and paper instead of drawing digitally. I love the fear that comes from not being able to erase the mistakes. #MastoArt #TraditionalArt #sketchbook #sketch #penandink #skull #drawing

Another thing in the pipeline right now, which is maybe ~2-3 months away from finishing if the insects are doing their job (I'm going to go out and check right now when I'm done typing this) is a boar skull with tusks intact. I'm open to keeping it, BUT I offered a very, very long time ago custom skull mounts so if anyone IS interested I can send pictures of its progress and we can discuss adornment or leaving it natural and mounting hardware etc etc and price since this one is worth considerably more than the sheep and goat skulls I was doing before. Long term if we end up rearing more tusked boars I may be willing to sell split skulls and/or tusks alone, but for this one I'm not willing to split the skull into pieces and will be articulating the lower mandible for mounting. These bones are all the by-products of sustainable agriculture that feeds a food-insecure community and we can attest to the high-welfare rearing and processing of each one because we do everything ourselves. Feel free to boost! #VultureCulture #Skull #SkullMount #Boar #Tusks #

☠️ The silent scream! This stone skull that sits in the shade of 200-year-old beech trees; the grave itself is over 150 years old. The skull’s mouth is grotesquely agape in a centuries-long silent scream, resting on a pillow of crossed femur bones. Bright green moss covers the gravestone, accentuating the hollow eye sockets and the tortured grimace of the macabre.
