This is a rather gorgeous red sandstone Glasgow Style tenement the corner of Govan Road and Shaw Street in Glasgow. It was designed by Frank Burnet and Boston, and was built in 1900.

The former National Bank of Scotland building on the corner of Trongate and Glassford Street in Glasgow. Built in 1903, it was designed by Thomas P. Marwick in a Renaissance style.

I recently posted a shot of the huge and imposing marble staircase from the City Chambers in Glasgow, but it's only one of the amazing bits of interior decoration in the building. This is another: the 100 foot long Faience Corridor, where every inch of its walls and domed ceilings are adorned with glazed decorative ceramic tiles.

One of the staircases in the City Chambers in Glasgow. Designed by William Young and built in the 1880s, its lavish internal decorations have to be seen to be believed. Luckily, they run regular tours so you can take a peek inside.

Carved by George Frampton, it's on J.J. Burnet's 1890s Banking Hall on Ingram Street in Glasgow.

James Thomson's wonderfully over-the-top Free Classical style Edwardian commercial building on the corner of Sauchiehall Street and Cambridge Street in central Glasgow. From the ground looking up, it doesn't appear too unusual, but when you see it from the top down, you can see all the intricate details on the uppermost floors.
