Agi: Libano, la città di Tiro è stata inserita tra patrimonio UNESCO a rischio AGI - Tiro, antica città fenicia nel Libano meridionale bombardata da Israele negli ultimi mesi, è stata aggiunta alla lista Unesco dei siti patrimonio dell'umanità in pericolo. I timori per i siti in Libano "Il sito è stato colpito direttamente e ha subito danni. Inoltre, il suo stato di conservazione è motivo di crescente preoccupazione, soprattutto data la possibilità di ulteriori impatti", ha dichiarato l'organizzazione. "Non sussistono più le condizioni ottimali per garantire la conservazione e la protezione dell'eccezionale valore universale del sito", ha aggiunto l'agenzia dell'Onu, riferendo che è stato il governo libanese a richiederne l'inclusione nella lista. L’inserimento nel 1984 Tiro, a 83 chilometri a sud di Beirut ma a soli 20 chilometri dal confine israeliano, è stata inserita nella lista del patrimonio mondiale dell'Unesco nel 1984 e racchiude due siti protetti dichiarati Patrimonio dell'Umanità: un arco trionfale romano e un ippodromo risalente al II secolo. Negli ultimi mesi la città costiera è rimasta coinvolta nel conflitto tra Israele e Hezbollah, e la maggior parte dei suoi abitanti è fuggita dopo che l'Idf ha emesso ordini di evacuazione per diversi quartieri, incluse alcune aree archeologiche. Furthermore, its state of conservation is a cause for increasing concern, especially given the potential for further impacts,” said the organization. “There are no longer optimal conditions to ensure the conservation and protection of the site’s exceptional universal value,” added the UN agency, reporting that it was the Lebanese government that requested its inclusion on the list. The Inclusion in 1984 Agi, located 52 miles south of Beirut but just 12 miles from the Israeli border, was included on the World Heritage List in 1984 and includes two protected sites declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site: a Roman triumphal arch and an hippodrome dating back to the 2nd century. In recent months, the coastal city has been involved in the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, and most of its inhabitants have fled after the IDF issued evacuation orders for several neighborhoods, including some archaeological areas. Before leaving North Wales & Parc Cenedlaethol Eryri | Eryri National Park we stopped for lunch at Harlech. The beach here on Cardigan Bay boasts several kilometres of sand that are notably wide at low tide (📷1) & are backed by dunes that constitute an important conservation area (📷2). We found the beach awash with Chrysaora hysoscella | the aptly-named compass jellyfish, apparently common in coastal coastal Atlantic & Mediterranean waters—although it hadn’t registered with us previously (📷3). Just inland from the beach is Castell Harlech | Harlech Castle, part of the UNESCO listing “Castles and Town Walls of King Edward in Gwynedd” (📷4). I hope they can save the numerous works of art inside and the building. It stood in Kyiv before Russia even existed.
