New package: laraplugins/doctor-health. A Laravel Doctor diagnostic that checks every composer dependency against the LaraPlugins health index. Run php artisan doctor and each package gets a verdict: healthy, medium, unhealthy, or archived. Per-package breakdown included, so you know exactly what to fix. composer require laraplugins/doctor-health https://github.com/LaraPlugins/doctor-health #Laravel #PHP #programming

Started a blog for LaraPlugins. First post: our 151.37 HackerNoon Proof of Usefulness score breakdown. I'll be writing openly about building a community tool. Architecture decisions, traffic numbers, things that break, things that work. One developer avoiding an abandoned package because of something here is enough. Coming: MCP deep dive, what broke, full survey results. https://laraplugins.io/blog/laraplugins-proof-of-usefulness-hackernoon-2026 #Laravel #PHP #OpenSource #buildinpublic

Laravel 13 ships with a hardened cache serialization default. It's a real security win, but when it breaks, you don't get an exception. Here's how it works and what to watch for. #php #laravel https://masteringlaravel.io/daily/2026-08-04-the-sneaky-failure-mode-in-laravel-13s-hardened-cache

Attackers have been abusing PHP object deserialization since before Laravel existed. Here's how those attacks work, and a way to protect against them. #php #laravel https://masteringlaravel.io/daily/2026-08-03-why-unserialize-is-on-every-php-security-checklist

RE: https://mastodon.social/@dansup/117020483143451487

I redesigned the Top row algorithm to better handle DMs + Group Chats.

We basically prioritize existing chats, then mutuals and finally recently following.

Cache busting was required to handle updates to following, conversations and blocking, but it's more performant with more relevant results!

I broke it down into two separate pools of results weighted accordingly.

First time using Cache::flexible( 😎

When you press the share button on Loops web and mobile apps, you see the new Share Sheet. The top row are Direct Message recipients, or Group chats. Middle row is popular mainstream platforms. Bottom row are fediverse platforms that support ActivityIntents ✨ Sharing should be easy and powerful! #Loops #Share #DirectMessages

We use UI toolkits to help us make styling decisions easier, but does this mean we always accept their decisions? Let me share a recent example where I pushed back on the defaults. #php #laravel https://masteringlaravel.io/daily/2026-07-30-does-this-field-look-readonly-to-you

Ever been tempted to make a property public just so a test can assert on it? Today's tip shares a rule we follow on every project, and the trick that lets you keep your tests isolated without touching application code. #php #laravel https://masteringlaravel.io/daily/2026-07-29-republished-avoid-changing-your-code-purely-for-a-test

Would you let an AI agent run commands on your production server? In this week's podcast, Aaron and I explain why that's just as reckless as FTPing code straight to production. #php #laravel https://masteringlaravel.io/daily/2026-07-27-laravel-podcast-running-ai-agents-on-your-production-server-is-the-new-ftp

Our lists now answer every question a developer asks when picking a Laravel package:

  • Most Downloaded: what is popular?
  • Most Viewed: what are people browsing?
  • AI-Ready: what works with the AI SDK?
  • Top 50 Healthy & Reputable: what can I actually trust?

The last one matters most. 50 packages, manually vetted vendors, top health scores.

I am curious how the new Laravel package-skeleton compares to Spatie’s? I’ve not dug into either at this time, it I have used the spatie https://github.com/laravel/package-skeleton https://github.com/spatie/package-skeleton-laravel There appears to be some code cross over? #php #laravel

Fun discovery from building the AI-Ready list: Bagisto, the 26,000-star e-commerce platform, already depends on laravel/ai. So does UnoPim with 9,500 stars. Big projects are betting on the SDK early. Our new list tracks them all, auto-updates daily at 9 AM JST, and is fully queryable via MCP. laraplugins.io/lists/ai-ready-plugins #Laravel #AI #OpenSource

In today's video, learn how to keep dev tooling out of your production Docker image by giving each Dockerfile its own ignore file, plus a gotcha in how Docker decides which one to use. #php #laravel https://masteringlaravel.io/daily/2026-07-24-video-ignoring-files-per-environment-with-docker
