We believe the internet should remain open, unrestricted, and accessible to everyone.
In response to the ongoing internet disruptions in Azerbaijan, Colitu VPN is providing 30 days of completely free, unlimited access to all our VPN services for people affected.
Freedom of information and secure communication should never be a privilege.
No payment. No data limits. Just access.
Open development means putting engineering claims to the test.
Following a thoughtful challenge from @launchgatecheck@mastodon.social on DEV.to, we ran controlled tests on Colitu's VPN verification, fallback behavior, DNS routing, and network recovery.
We identified issues, implemented fixes, and shipped the improvements in Windows 2.8.4 and Linux 1.4.3.
The methodology, results, and limitations are public.
A VPN can show “connected” while traffic has silently frozen.
We built Colitu Adaptive Connect 2.0 with real-traffic checks, per-network memory, backup routing and failover-aware monitoring.
In a 60-minute controlled test on one Android device: 741/750 HTTP probes passed. A 101-second primary-server outage caused ~5 seconds of interruption.
We published the failures and limitations too.
