I got sick of Windows, Facebook & Twitter, so I'm giving myself the gift of not using that bullshit anymore. Getting off the proprietary software train. New Linux Mint user, vibes to Synthwave, poutine nut, and vinyl enthusiast. I love cassette futurism & cyberpunk aesthetics. Do I know everything about 80's retro cult classics? Nope, but I can learn. I won't post / boost more than once per day, so I won't spam your timeline.

A #CRT isn't the only way to scan a phosphor screen with a particle beam!
You could also use a laser. This avoids most of the problems with CRTs:
- No heavy envelope or dangerous vacuum. Light isn't blocked by air.
- No high voltage. Lasers don't need it.
- No x-ray emissions.
- Lasers use less power.
Only thing is how do you deflect the beam? Best answer so far: mechanically, with a moving mirror. Sounds pretty fragile.
Still, neat. Retro-futuristic “what's old is new again” vibe.

Okay, the setup is solid now. SCART into the gscart switch which splits the output. One goes to the Sony PVM-2530, the other output goes to the RetroTINK 4K. I tried to get the colors to match somewhat on the CRT, but it's a fool's errand to be honest. However, once work is over it'll be time to progress more in FF6.
