The great Enshittocene is now spreading into in-person UX. A few hours ago I went to the local multiplex to see The Odyssey, and walked out with a refund. But I have no idea what the movie is like, I left within minutes of the start. I left because it was painfully loud for the tiny cinema, and the staff told me the volume was controlled by the distributor in the US. They have no projectionist who can customise the UX to the needs of the room. (1/?) #MovieIndustry #movies #enshittification

#3GoodThings Man, I hate #Facebook (for so many reasons), but I'll grudgingly admit the Marketplace is effective for me. I posted the 10yo's old bike yesterday and had a buyer about 4 hours later. Speaking of the 10yo, he's BACK from almost a month at overnight camp. I missed that kid. Top priority for the 10yo upon arriving back in civilization was seeing Spider-Man: Brand New Day. #3goodthings All's well. Follow-up post-surgery appointment went well. I can now begin increasing my mobility and light lifting using common sense. Guess that means I'll be mowing the lawn next week. Opted for a movie afternoon & evening. First-time watch of Cocaine Bear and M3GAN. Yes, I opted for the absurd (they're so much fun). Warm bread & butter with a bowl of chili. #movies #random
