@aegir@toot.wales Damp, yes. Cooler, yes. In the much deeper cuts, 20 minutes before this photo, much of the towpath was muddy. The walls of the cut are stone, there. Given the drought, where was that water coming from, I wonder? Was it being released by the earth, after 1½ months of dry weather? Decoded to turn right and take the 5×-as-long route because the direct route is closed due to water shortages.
