Unfortunately, I can no longer use Microsoft Copilot as a web panel in @Vivaldi@social.vivaldi.net for Desktop or on my mobile device in Vivaldi for Android. Microsoft is pushing users to use their app. This is so annoying because I really enjoyed using Copilot in the browser. I want to build a Tiling window #browser that is very similar to: https://github.com/szymonkaliski/cartographist On top of it, I need to add certain features. My question is: Is there any way I can avoid #Electron in order to build this that is cross-platform? As far as my research goes Tauri with #Rust and Wails with #Golang seems to accept only one WebView per window. I think GTK as well. For now, I know Golang and C. I'd like to stick to this as much as possible. I need to start somewhere, but I don't know what are the options that I have. Thanks. #askfedi #programming

There are clearly many reasons why people are switching to Vivaldi. Interestingly, my little survey shows that the top reasons have more to do with our values than particular features. The #1 reason (77%) is the fact that we do not have built in AI. #2 is that we do not build profiles on our users (67%). #3 is that we are made in Europe. #4 and #5 is that we do not build in Crypto currencies and the built in ad and tracker blocker. We will continue to listen to our users. We have chosen a different path to our competitors and we continue to try to do the right thing. ok #infosec #browser #android folks: i have a weird thing happening with #localization: even though i have android set to EN_CA, it looks like sites are reaching for info of my keyboard to set ―what they think― is my actual language. this is a multilingual keyboard that i use to write in 4 languages. the fuckers think am monolingually french. i thought this was only a Google/Youtube fuck up but now Trackt is doing it too. WTAF?!?!? how can i block this stupid #fingerprinting?
