Hmm, but why don't the / #HTML elements support style or class attributes? Would be way more useful than just width. I suppose I could do it with plain #CSS using tr > .nth-child(x), but then as far as I know I have to re-implement all the markup for various width breakpoints.

Happy HTML Day! Maybe you don’t have time to write a whole HTML document today. That’s ok. Let’s write the HTML for a link! Link to your website or any website you want. Make Your Own Website #HTMLDay2026 #HTML #HTMLDay #SmallWeb #Websites

💡 CSS Tip! After corner-shape, shape(), and border-shape, another feature is available to play with: rounding polygons. https://css-tip.com/rounded-shapes/ You create a polygon, add a radius value at the beginning, and you have a shape with rounded corners! #CSS #HTML

Stupid #a11y question.

What is best to use for each release of a discography page?

Each release element contains the cover art, album name, release date and type (full-length studio album, single, live, etc.).

Should this element be a figure with the text info in the figcaption?

Should it be an article with the name being a heading?

Should it be a li?

What is best? Any good resources on this?

Just your friendly reminder that every web page begins with HTML, and you therefore easily can block everything from websites you don't want to support. Add a simple entry to your uBlock Origin “My Filters” tab like x.com##html and links to x.com statuses will no longer load. No bandwidth wasted on “login to read”. There are DNS related methods even more thorough, but the uBlock filter is just so very handy. #socialmedia #ublock #privacy

Staring down the barrel of "nobody knows how to do anything without #JavaScript any more". All I want to do is make my #ebook readable in a web-browser. Do I have to make _everything_ myself!? No fancy UI-styling yet but there's nothing stopping me providing widgets for changing light/dark theme, colours, fonts, line-spacing -- you name it -- no JavaScript needed. Nothing to install, no Python script, no build system; it's just an #HTML + #CSS file. WHY IS THIS A LOST ART!?? #javascript #ebook #html #css #worldglass #webdev #nojs

I am cooking. #HTML + #CSS. No JS. No images (the icons are text, including the line-spacing icons which are three em-dashes with different line-spacing) Yes, you can select the font-face, font-size and line-spacing with the buttons, without #javascript. Every paragraph is numbered so you can easily remember where you were. Just need to add theme selection. #worldglass #webdev #writing

Good morning (or evening) fellow #WebDev friends! I have officially kicked off a new "ecosystem” of #HTML first, vanilla #JS adjacent tools I am calling Heartml. And we now have a website! https://www.heartml.dev The first library, a helper for building web components called Reciprocate, came out a while back but its been newly homed here. And the new library(ies) I've been plugging away at since last year is finally here! Introducing “Ride The Streetcar” 🚋 Server 🔀 Client DOM updates 1/2

Does anyone know a good and simple visual (using UI) static site generator that's easy to use and doesn't use any AI? Key features: ✅ Using interface, not code ✅ Doesn't add any tracking ❌ Doesn't use any AI #AskFedi #WebDevelopment #HTML #NoAI

@louie@pdx.social I agree that not every web site needs to run through an online content management system (CMS), or even an offline one. But I would like to add that every page should pass W3C validation. To that end, we should help browsers (and the validator) by telling them a bit about the page: ... Also, if you can navigate your site using the #lynx browser, you're doing a good job. https://validator.w3.org/check?uri=referer #WebDev #HTML
