I just discovered that to resign in #Italy, if you've got young children, you must attend to an interview with an italian #work agency (called Ispettorato Nazionale del Lavoro)... on #MicrosoftTeams . WTF?!? How, exactly, a relationshib between an #italian #citizen and an italian agency is mediated by a #multinational company tied to the most powerful government in the world? Also, one that didn't prove very savy, lately... Which it's great since yesterday was lackluster about building a feed. I'm glad I found this random ass #instance with the over the top char limit, I mean 500 is good but I don't like sending bazillion messages to get my point so win/win I guess ? BAD CULTURE You may be familiar with the notion of judging someone by how much work they do and by whether they have a job or not. Are you aware that this is by no means a universal human definition of human value? It is in fact part of the toxic culture of capitalism. In past times and places no one was judged by their job because, before capitalism, the very idea of "the job" had not yet been invented. Likewise, in previous ages "work" was more likely to have been done by slaves. It was not a badge of honour but indicative of the fact you had been coerced. "The job" itself was invented by early capitalists to get people into their factories so they (but not the workers) could become rich. These capitalists slowly built a whole culture built on the idea that having a job was a matter of status. But that was just self-serving bullshit. Reflect on these things. #Politics #capitalism #work #job
