Okay, I think maybe it's time to give #FediHired a try. I'm a senior software engineer with 14 years of experience, based in the United States. Mostly back-end development and data engineering, with enough front-end experience to be dangerous. I'm most comfortable with Python but I've used Java, C#, PHP, and Go on the job, and off the job I've dabbled with more esoteric choices like F# and Prolog. I'm looking for a job because my current employer has begun enforcing a return-to-office mandate, and has also declared that we're going "AI-first" and intends to start mandating the use of Copilot. I would prefer a fully remote job, and I will not use LLMs of any kind, for any reason. Not "would prefer not to." Will not. I realize that this principled stand makes me nigh-unemployable in the current employment landscape. I'd be willing to take a serious pay cut to work for someone that doesn't force us to use planet-burning plagiarism machines. I don't even necessarily want a job in the tech industry; honestly, I'd probably prefer it if it wasn't. Does such a job exist in 2026? #getfedihired

I thought I'd try to see if I can be #fedihire #fedihired. Applied Cryptographer and Software Engineer. I've worked with Smartcards, Embedded Systems, Kernel Drivers, Server software. Primarily I've used C/C++/Rust/Go/Python. At the moment I'm working on learning two slightly different things: Lean and VHDL. Yes, those worlds are quite different. Most recently I have been in the smartcard/PKI space, and while I enjoy the technical angle I'm spending far too much time in word for my enjoyment. I'm based in Switzerland, open to #remote contracts via my company if necessary.

Hey Fedi, As things have changed with my current projects, I have the bandwidth (and need) for more work. I'm a freelance software architect, engineer, and developer that's been working in tech for over two and a half decades now. I have experience designing and implementing small systems and large scale distributed ones. I've modernised old legacy systems to be more maintainable and manageable, and fully reverse engineered systems and rewrote them to make them more manageable. I am very experienced with Linux based environments, containers, and Kubernetes, and like to manage my application from inception, to defining and deploying its environment. I have also written systems to manage large server farms. I have extensive experience in multiple programming languages, but I have worked the most with Python, and Go, although the last year, I've developed a preference for Rust. As I have done system administration next to my software creation activities, I also have an extensive homelab, and have developed a passion in reclaiming digital independence from big tech. So if you, or your organisation needs someone to: Help them modernise their stack.Adapt their application so that it resiliently can run in a cloud or kubernetes.Create a road map on how to move their data, and applications to Europe.Design, and possibly implement, a distributed system.Advice them on how to get away from big tech.Or just plain need some extra hands to work on your product.
