British #police arrested several anti-genocide protesters outside HMP #Bristol Prison after demonstrators gathered to mark the second anniversary of the Filton action, displaying signs in support of the activists involved. The protest commemorated Aug. 6, 2024, when six #PalestineAction activists entered Elbit Systems' Filton facility and damaged dozens of drones intended for use by the Israeli occupation military in #Gaza. The demonstration called for the activists' release and condemned Britain's continued military ties with #genocidal #Israel. https://t.me/QudsNen/234365

'Police say they will "not tolerate criminality, disorder or hate of any kind".' So why are you letting the #fascists and #racists assemble in the first place, Mr Plod? #Bristol https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/news/bristol-news/police-issue-stern-warning-ahead-11097207

Starting to stalk the weather apps for the #BristolBalloonFiesta and Friday and Sunday mornings are looking good for blue skies and light winds for a mass ascent. It's an early start, but so much fun #bristol

The precipitation forecast for 10:00 and 12:00 never arrived. Apparently it *should* be raining (lightly) now. It is not #bristol #bs5 #UKWeather

"Construction work has begun on a railway track running between Bristol and Portishead, which will allow passenger trains to run on the line for the first time in 60 years. The £196m project will create two new stations, at Pill and Portishead, connecting them with Parson Street, Bedminster and Bristol Temple Meads in a 25-minute, hourly service." #Bristol https://www.bristol247.com/news-and-features/news/work-begins-on-train-track-between-portishead-and-bristol/

RE: https://mementomori.social/@Auringon_sikio/116978849644048794 The #ITV-series Gone exposes overwhelming matters about the #IntelligenceServices, especially the Finnish #IntelligenceAgency Supo, #Suojelupoliisi. Apparently the #police (at least) in #Bristol and #Bath (who knows if in the rest of #England, too, or even in the whole of #UK!) is lead by #Supo. The logo in the screenshot is the #CoatOfArms of #Finland. So dear World, stop talking about #MI5 and #MI6. About #FBI and #CIA. About #FSB and #Mossad. And start talking about Supo, #JustSaying!

"The land is owned by Winford Parish Council which has said it is not for sale. The airport’s planning consultants have now begun the process of obtaining a compulsory purchase order which would legally force the sale." Disgraceful. #Bristol https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/news/bristol-news/campaigners-appalled-bristol-airport-moves-11068379

"Elsewhere, Nottingham is the only city that has implemented a workplace parking levy, but the idea is now being explored in other cities too, such as Cardiff and Leeds. In Bristol, around a third of people drive to work, although some of these have to pay for parking already and so would not not be affected by the new levy. Schools, the NHS and other employers could be exempt. In 2025, the former council leader of Nottingham City Council, Graham Chapman, said there was no loss of business in the city when the levy was first introduced, despite threats of companies relocating." #Bristol https://www.bristol247.com/news-and-features/news/funds-workplace-parking-levy-transformational-impact/

@wood5y@mastodonapp.uk They have to provide cheap or free public transport before charging for car parks, otherwise people will still drive as it is worth the cost to them. #bristol

Refuse and recycling collections being affected by hot weather. My own recycling was collected 2 days late this week; general waste 1 day late. #GetBristolTidy #Bristol https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/news/bristol-news/recycling-bins-overflowing-south-bristol-11051935

@wood5y@mastodonapp.uk The #robot #ai answerphone says "YOU MUST" report missed collections via the website. I had already done that 2 days before but it made no difference. But what #MUST #bristol city council do? empty them! It is strange we pay them, they tell us what to do.

#bristol #bristolcitycouncil charges for green bin collections but then does not collect them as they don't have enough staff. The new robot answerphone is unhelpful. Is Bristol city council criminally negligent? or just criminal?
