I'm a bit of a goober myself so I'd take what I have to say with a grain of salt. But I've recently just got into Emacs myself through GNU Guix. While I have found that here is certainly a learning curve when it comes to using Lisp. Once you get used to it, once you get used of using Lisp as a configuration language, you'll find that Emacs isn't that bad of an editor. I've been thinking for a while about creating customized #Markdown highlighting, e.g. making all "TODO" strings stand out in my notes. Are there any tools/frameworks out there (esp. for #Vim/#Neovim) that allow me to add new formatting rules on the top of existing highlighters?

I made a little Zettelkasten plugin for Neovim: https://codeberg.org/smeikx/zetka.nvim I’ve started a Zettelkasten to reflect on media I read, watch and listen to; I hope this will help me define, refine, explain and defend my core beliefs and opinions. I created the plugin myself to think about how I want to use my personal Zettelkasten and because it was fun. nvim-ansible: My Neovim config for Ansible and Python just got a substantial refresh:

  • modernized for Neovim 0.11 (vim.lsp.config, LspAttach, vim.filetype.add)
  • ansible-lint now routed through Mason, sidestepping distro-related issues and ensuring a consistent version
  • tighter lazy-loading, full README rewrite

Imagine a protocol like #LSP, but for adding real-time collaboration to existing text editors. It would allow #Neovim to edit a #Hedgedoc, or peer-to-peer pair programming between #VSCode and #Emacs! The saga with my #neovim config continues. I already re-did it many times throughout my vim journey, however everytime instead of doing it clean and right, I just quit since it kinda worked, which is the goal, right? Anyway, I've got this great book from my friend who brought me into a rabbit hole of #kinesis keyboards and (neo)vim (thanks @gemelen@mammut.moe). I've read it many times, yet everytime I learn something new, like today I've learned it's possible to undo changes fot the last X minutes, cool!
