@noxypaws objectively they are all indeed better, not here to contest with that reality but y'know what fucking sucks? furaffinity especially, but also e621 and inkbunny, randomly go on purges because the admins feel like it furaffinity randomly claimed certain characters are underaged, which therefore needed to be banned (which included the former admin's works, great job dinguses). e621 also goes on random art purges where entire tags are deemed illegal suddenly. and inkbunny just has a transphobic power-tripping admin who can decide unattributed 3d models aren't artistically intrinsic, while AI slop is. so yeah, good point, but also fuck me man we still deserve so much better. any time a new art site crops up, they either immediately pull the rug underneath people by saying "actually that's The Bad Art. fuck you and die", or they instate rules like "feral art literally equates to sexual violence in real life" and wonder why nobody signs up i just want a good gallery site damnit

@leafeon @eri @AmyZenunim really i got by with many years of "just winging it". could my art skills have improved faster if i learned the "proper" methods? sure, maybe. but then i wouldn't be an artist, i would've given up long ago if i forced myself to learn the basics ...it does also help i use a vector program instead of traditional raster, meaning i don't have to learn how to draw a straight line, or a circle, i can just smudge my art until it gives me what i want. or i just draw a line and a circle in 1 second using the tools given to me lol

@pikhq ughhhh this all the way. i'm not in the professional realm... and frankly don't plan on doing so, because i like coding a lot. and the best way to ruin your appreciation for something is to have capitalism ruin it for you i do coding explicitly because it's fun! it's for the same reason i draw art, i use it to craft things that i like! there's a lot of people out there that see programming and drawing as two seperate distinct things, like trying to mix oil in water. but i don't, because i both do programming and drawing
