Finally finished writing the Pumpkin Push (Sokoban clone) game chapters of my Lua and Love2D programming tutorial. Progress has been so slow... but I'm happy to have at least wrapped up this chapter. :ameowbongo: I think part of my problem motivation wise has been that my target audience is hypothetical. When I've written tutorials in the past, they've usually been directed at solving specific problems I saw a community having, but that isn't the case this time around. I hope it's useful to somebody? I have vague ideas for what the next chapters might be, but I'm not sure if or when they'll ever be written. https://brookmiles.ca/game-programming-lua-love2d/part-ii/pumpkin-push-ii/ #lua #love2d #gamedev

I made a little Zettelkasten plugin for Neovim: https://codeberg.org/smeikx/zetka.nvim I’ve started a Zettelkasten to reflect on media I read, watch and listen to; I hope this will help me define, refine, explain and defend my core beliefs and opinions. I created the plugin myself to think about how I want to use my personal Zettelkasten and because it was fun. But I tried to make it useful for other people too, so give it a try if you like. #nvim #Neovim #lua #Zettelkasten #PIM

@richardjh@phpc.social so am i right that #perl and #php and #lua and #lisp and #forth are the only ones left without bigtech dominating and deciding where languages go.

tiny lua compiler: a lua compiler in a single file, that's well-documented, that was hand-crafted over several years, and made to teach you compiler/tokenizer/parser/lexer design. this is a crazy impressive project, and in a time when people are haphazardly slopcoding projects, is a standard to live by. https://github.com/bytexenon/Tiny-Lua-Compiler #programming #lua

https://github.com/wowemulation-dev/rilua has seen some more releases. Some performance improvements have been made on one regression cleaning up too much in the GC was fixed. We are getting closer to matching Luas performance. #lua #rustlang
