ich hab bei meiner Recherche für mein #PIM (ist der Name eigentlich standard gewesen oder hatte Karl den entwickelt?) #Obsidian angesehen und mich bewusst für #emacs und #orgmode entschieden aber, mein #adhs Gehirn macht gerade nicht mit, weil Obsidian ja diese tolle Vernetzung Chart hat, die ist so toll, das brauchst du unbedingt ja wirklich nein, Hirn, brauche ich nicht. I made a little Zettelkasten plugin for Neovim: https://codeberg.org/smeikx/zetka.nvim I’ve started a Zettelkasten to reflect on media I read, watch and listen to; I hope this will help me define, refine, explain and defend my core beliefs and opinions. I created the plugin myself to think about how I want to use my personal Zettelkasten and because it was fun. It's so sad. With CalDAV we have a really nice open protocol for syncing events, todos and notes. The protocol, which is technically more of a file format (iCalendar) even supports quite complex reccurence rules and even things like recurring tasks. Unfortunately, client (and server) applications usually only implement a subset of what's possible. Know some good ones? Let me know! #CalDAV #iCalendar #ics #Calendar #PIM #LinuxApps

@cstross@wandering.shop @skjeggtroll@mastodon.online Moore’s Law is dead for now. I did a study a few years ago to look at what is happening and will happen in microprocessors. Short story is that traditional processor architecture is hitting end of life. Feature sizes are so small now that quantum effects are a significant factor. High speed and small size also means we are up against a thermal barrier as well. Clever approaches with System-On-a-Chip (#SOA), 3D stacking, maybe Processor-In-Memory (#PIM) and distributed multiprocessing will squeeze out more progress for maybe a decade. After that comes the next computing revolution — a shift to non-Von Neumann #computing. #Quantum has the spotlight because that’s the really big win, but there are other approaches that are likely to be commercially viable before quantum is mature. I’m optimistic about the tech, less so about the rate of adoption and change that will be required, especially if the most talented early- career computer scientists and engineers keep chasing the associative/statistical methods that include LLMs.
