✍️🚀 Typesetter: Editor minimalist pentru documente bazat pe Typst Pentru utilizatorii de Linux care scriu documente academice, rapoarte tehnice sau scrisori oficiale, formatarea textului a fost mult timp împărțită între simplitatea limitată a limbajului Markdown și complexitatea masivă a sistemului LaTeX. Totul s-a schimbat odată cu apariția Typst, o alternativă modernă, rapidă și mult mai prietenoasă la LaTeX. Acum, pentru a face această tehnologie și mai accesibilă, comunitatea open-source lansează Typesetter, un editor grafic minimalist conceput special pentru a compila documente Typst într-un mod fluid și vizual. I'm here to meet and follow people sharing my interests, as they are many. I love typesetting and editorial design, currently learning the ropes of #Typst and #Scribus for building myself a visual identity. I also write (and continuously edit) on my blog & newsletter, The Gradient. I mostly cover #STEM education, history and philosophy of science. Speaking of writing, I'm a huge fan of fountain pens, ink, and graphite pencils, of which I have quite a few. (_But I'm a user, not a collector_. Don't we all say this?) A few weeks ago, i implemented a custom bleed argument in #typst for printing. Now, with 0.15.0, the page element got a bleed parameter. Nice.

Es ist schon interessant, wenn man an seinem ersten größeren Inhalten schreibt. Ich habe ja keine Ahnung. Ich bin ein Anfänger. Ich bringe ein paar Fähigkeiten aus anderen Disziplinen mit, die mir eine andere Herangehensweise ermöglichen. Also ich kann Informatik. Das führt dazu, dass ich mir Tools selber baue. Das verzögert alles, was ich machen will. Ich baue ja erstmal ein Tool. Dann wird es aber schneller, weil ich ein Tool dafür habe. Ganz konkret geht es mir mit #typst so. Ich schreibe damit meine Inhalte. Meine Inhalte werden von Code erzeugt. Eine Zufallstabelle ist bei mir eine Funktion. Die nimmt Überschrift und Inhalt entgegen. Und dann gibt es eine fertige Tabelle mit automatischer Nummerierung, etc. Ich habe etwas zu viel Spaß daran Tools zu bauen. Macht ja nichts, können ja auch andere benutzen. Siehe Charakterbogen für 5.5e für D&D. Das skaliert also gut. Jetzt schaue ich natürlich auch, was andere machen. Natürlich schaue ich mir an, ob ich was lernen kann. Sei es vom Inhalt selber, der Gestaltung oder dem Tooling. Klar schaue ich mir die Metadaten von Dateien an. Oder schaue es mir im Texteditor direkt an. Und da steckt überall so viel Liebe drin. Es ist wundervoll. Außer bei großen Firmen. Da würde ich erwarten, dass mehr Automatisierung verwendet wird. Nein, da geht viel verloren. Beispiel Lokalisierung: Die Übersetzer bekommen das fertige Produkt und fangen von vorne an. Bei Software sind sie seit Jahrzehnten integriert. Der Abstand zwischen einem großen Unternehmen und einer Einzelperson mit Hingabe ist von der Qualität der Produkte echt klein geworden. #pnpde #dnd

“pandoc for the people”, the pandoc wasm web-app, is now available at https://pandoc.org/app/ It allows to run any kind of document conversion that pandoc supports in the browser. The documents never leave the computer, thus ensuring *full privacy*. Conversions to pdf are done via Typst. #pandoc #wasm #typst
