Gibt es eigentlich eine stressfreie Alternative zu Audacity unter #linux ?
Es geht um *einfache* Mehrspuraufnahmen, niedrige Latenzen sind *nicht* nötig. Ich habe früher für sowas mit Schülern Audacity genommen, aber das hat diesmal nicht gut geklappt - während vorher ein Filmprojekt mit KDENlive gut geklappt hat.
Ich selbst nehme dafür QTractor, aber ich wollte nicht den SuS Jack, Pipewire und sonstwas erklären müssen.

By the way, and for the avoidance of doubt/suspicion: none of the "audio etymology" sequences that I've created and am posting here involve any use of AI, LLM's, neural nets, none of that. All are made from original audio recordings of real people speaking words in their various languages, which are then subjected to good old-fashioned signal processing (speech coding and synthesis). The continua of change are made using straightforward linear interpolation over the space of cepstrograms, which are 2 dimensional matrices encoding the acoustics of the original recordings. Using scripts that I wrote, by hand.

Almost all of the audio wiring is done in this now. Finished it today. What's left is the AC wiring, which I really can't do until I get the front panel. Reason being one of the items mounted to the front panel attaches from the outside.

Technical question: is there any #audio editor, #DAW, or similar that renders a #waveform by using path-based rendering? For example, is there any software that reads audio data and creates a path from it?
I've long had the idea to experiment with using paths in the rendering of a waveform on screen, mainly because I'd be interested in such a thing. Maybe if I can come up with some experimental code to look at such then I will share that here 👀
