Would someone like to build a single-fader MIDI controller for me, a bedbound composer? Preferably someone within Europe (shipping to Austria). I would like to pay cash money for something lightweight enough that I can use double-sided velcro-tape to attach it to my custom-made bed-desk (which sits upright at about 60-70 degrees). 🧵 … found some snapshots in my archive, showing the recording of “begin to…” by @annaohlmann@sunny.garden I almost had forgotten that I also had done the lights for that recording. Which is clearly visible in the audio. 🤪 OK, seriously: This was a concert situation with recording happening, so the grand piano and its player needed to be in the spotlight, for which a friendly #EventTech competitor gave me his crazy expensive #Arri #LC7 LED lights for free. (Heavy current outlets for Tungsten lights are often not found in churches. Today I own LED lights my self, also some neat tiny ones that don't have noisy fans.) We have the same model of grand piano in our home now. If you need some piano recordings, or other type of recording in the area of south-west Germany, @no-tlb can do it. Another spoiler for the uMixa. Among others it was developed for piezos, coils, or pickups and features extremely high input impedance, high gain, and low noise. The EQ also does its best by lowering the lows here. #diy #electronic #piezo #sound #field #recording

Here’s a screenshot of my new song ‘She’s An Island Girl’ in the Tracktion Waveform DAW. Seven tracks. Drums, rhythm guitar, solo keys, rhythm keys, bass, vocals and guitar solo. Yellow track is a blank song structure track to give me some reference building the song. Rhythm and solo guitar was Danelectro 59 through Strymon Iridium and Keeley compressor. Keys tracks were Dano through EHX B9 Organ Machine pedal and Keeley compressor. EHX B9 setting was classic rock with cranked modulation and percussive click. Vocal mic was Apex 550 FET condenser. #recording #guitar #songwriting #music #gearsquad
