Drat, OSM has blocked my server for (too much tile usage). All public safety alerts. Anyone have an OSM tile server they don't mind me hitting for images? I guess too many wildfire evacuations and tornado warning and whatnot all in the last week. (I do *not* want to have to set up a tile server myself). Nog måste det finnas ett sätt att importera en befintlig karta i Open Streetmaps till en kartapp? Exempelvis: Udda utflykter har en OSM-karta (https://uddautflykter.se/kartan/) som ju vore trevlig att ha som ett lager i CoMaps. Men hur importerar eller prenumererar man på en karta, som någon knåpat ihop och gjort tillgänglig, i sin egen kartapp? #openstreetmap #osm #comaps #openstreetmaps

Don't forget! air_conditioning=yes/no is the tag you can map now!

When you walk into a shop/cafe/restaurant do you immediately notice the cold air? You should be happy for 2 reasons! You can cool down, and now you have something to map into OSM!

What is it with some #StreetComplete users who when presented with a quest that asks whether something is still there, create a note saying something like "it's not here anymore", instead of just selecting the No option on the quest? #OSM #OpenStreetMap

Isn't it funny when there a mappers who declare themselves as "pro" or "expert", and yet they do some wild changes in #OSM that either don't make sense or touch the area of vandalism. And usually this occurs through organized mapping events. The sad thing is that this is quite common, and the "organized mapping events", even by well-known orgs, don't feel quite organized when you end up with such cases. And the mapped who does the mistake, can be either a random mapper or member of such org. Makes you wonder if they have ever mapped in #OpenStreetMap before or if they have even the basic mindset to understand what they are looking at in the imagery they use during the mapping.

🇮🇹 Terrain update for Italy on the Freemap outdoor map. Where high-resolution LiDAR is available — most of the centre, south, islands and north-east — hillshading and contours now come from a 5 m model instead of the interpolated 10 m TINITALY. @jcarlson@mapstodon.space I see this thing for years, with a great increase back in 2020, presumably due to COVID curfews. And the sad thing is that it's really difficult to remove or even change stuff on Google Maps. You can add anything you want, but if you to do any change, even for a small typo, it's pain in the butt, if I ever gets approved by their broken automated system. That's one of the reasons why I started mapping in #OSM, cuz you can edit stuff easily, and you can see who did what and can collaborate with other people for better mapping.

I'm wishing for an app like @everydoor@en.osm.town, just even much simpler: You start by selecting like up to six types of things you want to map, then the top half of the app is a map and the bottom are just two rows of three big buttons, with those six things. The map shows those things, like ED, but you just move the map to the correct place, press the correct button, and boom - you're done! This would make me map so much more. Extra details can be added by @streetcomplete@mastodon.social people later. #OSM #mapping
