Nog måste det finnas ett sätt att importera en befintlig karta i Open Streetmaps till en kartapp? Exempelvis: Udda utflykter har en OSM-karta (https://uddautflykter.se/kartan/) som ju vore trevlig att ha som ett lager i CoMaps. Men hur importerar eller prenumererar man på en karta, som någon knåpat ihop och gjort tillgänglig, i sin egen kartapp? #openstreetmap #osm #comaps #openstreetmaps

I was getting frustrated that a GPS map for the car involved either sending my location to big tech (Google maps etc) or creating a car-vendor-ID (to download free GPS maps), but then searched and found #CoMaps today: https://www.comaps.app/ What a nice #opensource community project! Privacy focused, with locally downloadable #OpenStreetMap maps, and a nice feature set! Kudos to all the good folks behind this tech stack - you rock! 😎 #danmarkskifter

It took me a bit to latch on to #CoMaps, because the default settings needed me to find and change them.

I opted to "increase size for map labels"
In Navigation, Voice Directions, I turned on "Announce Street Names."

After those changes, it felt much more familiar and easy to adapt to.

My #CoMaps t-shirt just arrived! CoMaps has been my first go to navigation app, and I'm loving the experience. Yes, I still fallback to that bigtech's map every other time, but CoMaps is definitelly my #1 pick for #maps and #navigation. Dear #OSM #openstreetmap community, how do you usually contribute? The web UI is a bit cumbersome, even on desktop, so I've recently been contributing via #CoMaps on Android. What other apps can you recommend for contributing/updating data?

Hab ich in #comaps eigentlich die Möglichkeit, "Wander"/ Radwege besser klassifiziert anzuzeigen? Bin eben einen "dick eingemalten" Weg hoch,und das Problem sind nicht die osm Daten!

Does anyone have an opinion of #HereWeGo as a mobile #map app? I can't believe something owned by a car company would be any good at cycle routing, pedestrian pathing, or public transit. I've been using a combination of #MagicEarth / Magic Lane that comes natively on /e/ OS, #CoMaps, and NS or a couple other train apps. #maps #degoogle #navigation

One full week under the keel running Alpine Linux on my primary workstation. Even set root on a ZFS mirror - simple to setup. First experience with rEFInd as well - I like it. Sharp and snappy, just like the way I like my cars! Ha! No new revelations compared to the first few weeks on the test workstation... I'm still tweaking some things for personalization as it happens but all good. The Alpine repos are full of good stuff and are current/up2date in a practical manner. The only flatpaks I've had to run are Waterfox, Signal Desktop and messing around with the new CoMaps Linux version (this exists - happy! happy! joy! joy!). I'm going to migrate my Debian Bookworm servers to Alpine when I get around to the upgrades. I'll keep clients on Debian for the foreseeable future. I'm not sure why I'm so excited about Alpine, it just feels like a breathe of fresh air! Modern and simple. Enjoying it. #AlpineLinux #Linux #desktop #homelab #SelfHosted #Waterfox #Comaps #rEFInd
