“AI webpage #crawlers are now being served their very own #ads that ordinary visitors never see, with one firm's boss openly describing a strategy to influence what #chatbots say about #brands. The next time you ask Claude about where to bank, its answer may have been influenced by this #BotTargeted content. We only have one documented example so far, and that's Time serving #AIOnly ads to selected AI crawlers, as spotted by Germany based freelance software developer #VincentSchmalbach. In a Wednesday blog post, Schmalbach detailed how he found #sponsored content embedded in #markdown versions of some Time pages that are served to AI crawlers but not ordinary browsers. Those pages also contained #advertisings tags from #AdTech vendor Mobian ahead of extensive #FAQs for online-only bank Ally. The FAQs include brand "facts," such as the number of fee-free ATMs associated with the branchless bank, alongside claims that Ally is "the only bank built for life today," putting it in "a category of one." Il y a quand même un truc dont je suis méga fière avec @dubout_desbois@re.lire.im c'est que notre pipeline de production des PDFs imprimeur est 100% libre. Une fois que l'autaire a écrit son bouquin comme iel veux, nous derrière on se base sur des fichiers #markdown et on utilise #pandoc et #weasyprint (de @courtbouillon@fosstodon.org) pour faire la version PDF et EPUB du même coup Puis @inkscape@mastodon.art pour faire la couverture, tranche et la quatrième. J'ai transpiré au moment d'envoyer les fichiers à l'imprimeur parce que c'était ma première fois et que je m'attendais à avoir des corrections à faire mais une demi heure plus tard le responsable PAO m'a confirmé que "les fichiers sont tout à fait corrects" Donc voilà, on peut faire une maison d'édition sans #Adobe avec que des #LogicielLibre. (On a d'ailleurs inclus une page à la fin du bouquin pour noter la référence des différents logiciels utilisés)

Last parts to make my desktop wiki Neville base usable is done. Or almost - path to the book is still hard coded but that is for tomorrow to deal with. Still a lot of rough edges though and not even in beta stage (but I will start use it to test it though). Native Markdown 1.2.0 is out! Fenced code blocks on #Markdown pages are now syntax highlighted server-side with Pygments, via the bundled SyntaxHighlight extension, exactly like wikitext ones. Also new: a maintenance script that bulk-converts existing pages to the Markdown content model, by .md title suffix or per namespace. Plus several thumbnail embed fixes. Frage an VIM-Nutzer: Tastaturbelegung (normal, edit, visuell), Vim Movements usw. ist für eine Bearbeitung ohne Maus ja eine feine Sache und lohnt sich sicher für Leute, die viel Programm-Code schreiben. Aus Eurer Sicht: Lohnt sich die Einarbeitung für jemanden für mich, der keinen Code sondern hauptsächlich Texte in einem Markdown-Editor schreibt?
