🇰🇵🇷🇺 North #Korea is deploying a missile unit in #Russia to launch strikes against #Ukraine — Reuters. According to media sources, the deployment will involve 120 North Korean ballistic missiles and 6 launch platforms. 📜 TIL the Korean alphabet Hangul is the only major writing system invented from scratch for its own language, and its letters are drawings of your mouth. King Sejong the Great finished it in 1443 so common people could read and write. The consonants literally trace the speech organs: ㄱ is the tongue root blocking the throat, ㅁ is lips pressed together, ㅅ is the teeth. The vowels encode sky, earth, and human: a dot, a horizontal line, and a vertical stroke. The scholar class hated it. For 400 years it was treated as a script for women, monks, and commoners, until it went mainstream in the late 1800s. Analysis of BlueShell Variants Used by APT Groups BlueShell is an open-source remote access trojan developed in Go language, primarily used by Chinese-based threat actors. A variant of BlueShell has been identified in post-intrusion activities by APT groups including BlackTech, targeting organizations in Japan, South Korea, and Thailand. This variant differs from the original through a dedicated dropper mechanism, proxy server-based C2 communication, and anti-forensic capabilities. The dropper deploys the variant to /tmp/kthread, disguises it as a Linux kernel worker process, and removes filesystem traces. Recent variants observed since 2024 include XOR-encoded configuration data and proxy functionality, indicating continuous development. The malware performs hostname verification, validates C2 certificates, and implements commands for file transfer, remote shell, and SOCKS5 proxy capabilities.
