The one consistent hallmark of Trump’s life—and thus his administration—is an utter and unmitigated lack of taste. I believe that for some weird reason Trump is *literally* incapable of appreciating anything beyond a sensation of power and the appearance of shiny baubles that are at his fingertips. That any object has permanence beyond his immediate use is incomprehensible to him. That anything in the present may be a continuation of the past or the future never crosses his mind, especially if it’s only important to somebody else.
Asking Trump to appreciate art, history, or science, beyond how they can feed his greed and ego *today*, is pearls before swine.
