I keep telling everyone: THEY WANT US DEAD. This isn't about saving money; that's just a rationalization. They've convinced themselves that #AI can do all the work, and as far as they're concerned, we can all die of #heatstroke.
Hannah #Arendt predicted, in the 1960s, the rise of a version of #fascism that wouldn't be content with targeting certain minorities. It would no longer rely on the labor of some supposed human master race. Instead, it would rely on automation, and its aim would be the extermination of everyone outside a tiny elite #oligarchy.
And here we are.

@randahl@mastodon.social I’m glad Elon exists: he’s showing the world that to make inordinate amounts of money and become one of the most powerful oligarchs in the world, you don’t need even an ounce of intelligence, you just need to be a sociopath eager to exploit even the most vulnerable.
He also makes clear that this system is a failure if it rewards these kind of individuals, with no correction mechanism in place. He’s a techno-wanker cyber-douche POS.
