Fascist paramilitary invaders team up with local fascists to brutalize protesters after dragging abductee out of hospital. (Brooklyn, NY • 05/03/2026)

The chaos erupted just before 10:30 p.m., when agents brought the man to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in the Bushwick neighborhood. The Department of Homeland Security identified him as Chidozie Wilson Okeke, an immigrant from Nigeria who had overstayed a visa. Agents had used force during his arrest and he had requested medical attention, the department said in a statement.

A local group that tracks Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents’ vehicles had apparently followed them to the hospital, said Sandy Nurse, the local city councilwoman, who was present during the demonstration. As many as 200 protesters gathered outside the hospital while the detainee was inside, and some began throwing garbage cans into the street, the police said. Officers received numerous 911 calls and took several people into custody, the police said.

Hours later, agents brought the man out of the hospital. Around 2:15 a.m., officers responded to new reports of protesters blocking the ambulance bay, the police said. Videos show two federal agents dragging the detained man, who is handcuffed, out of a hospital exit, down a short staircase and into the ambulance bay, where he appears to fall to the ground.

The two agents then stand over him while police officers hold back protesters who are shouting at the agents. Moments later, the agents pull the man up by the arms and drag him into a waiting car.

Age verification laws forcing platforms to restrict content access have been multiplying exponentially. The problem is, implementing such measures necessarily requires identifying every user accessing the content, one way or another. This is bad news for everyone. If these regulations continue to proliferate, this could lead to the end of pseudonymity online, and much worse. "Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) just inked a $12.2 million contract for an artificial intelligence tool that claims to map out immigrants’ daily routines, habits, and real-time location and categorize them as potential threats, per procurement records reviewed by the Lever. Dubbed “Project SAFE HAVEN,” the product is advertised by defense vendor Edge Ops LLC as a “question-based AI interface” that uses “persistent passive data collection” to map “patterns of life,” a surveillance tactic that ICE says will identify the “habitual locations, routes, and behavioral patterns” of its targets. Additional features of the technology described in procurement documents include real-time location tracking and analysis that will categorize individuals and groups as affiliated with ostensible criminal organizations, such as gangs or cartels. When you read about Bans of Social Media for Teens and Age Verification, you must remember what it truly means: • Official identification of every adult using social media. • Deanonymization of every account, endangering groups that often rely on pseudonymity for safety, such as victims of domestic violence, victims of stalkers, people of color, and LGBTQ+ people. • Putting every adult at great danger of exploitation, fraud, and identity theft by forcing them to share their official ID with a for-profit third-party company with no incentive to protect it. Breaches have already happened. • Constructing a system of mass surveillance to attach every comment on social media to a legal identity. Effectively allowing authoritarian governments to silence their critics and opposition. • Potential for dystopian censorship and cutting off means of organization for groups of resistance to oppressive regime and organizations. • Endangering children online by putting a clear identification beacon over every child or family with children online. • Endangering the data of children who will inevitably try to pass as adults, and have their information collected by the third-party for-profit company. • Diminishing the value of official identification due to the inevitable data breaches, eventually pushing the system to require even more intrusive identification techniques, such as iris scans and fingerprints. • Installing a system of mass surveillance capable of attaching even more information to everyone's legal identity. With a potential to built list of people in certain groups, and scale-up state censorship and discrimination in unprecedented ways. • The list goes on and on. This isn't about protecting the children. It never was. Do not be duped by this excuse used to convince you to let go of your human rights. They are only trying to manipulate people lacking information. Stay informed on the issues related to Age Verification, and push back for your rights to privacy and democracy.
