In a written ruling Tuesday, Mehta said he was dismissing the #OathKeepers’ charges reluctantly at the request of the #DOJ. He criticized prosecutors for claiming in a court filing that wiping out the most serious convictions from the #Jan6 riot was in the public interest.

A federal judge on Tuesday agreed to dismiss the #SeditiousConspiracy case against the leader of the #OathKeepers, #StewartRhodes, & 7 other members of the #extremist group who planned to storm the US Capitol on #Jan6, 2021.
The ruling by US District Judge Amit P. Mehta is the last step in the legal process to wipe out penalties from the Jan 6 #insurrection, cementing #Trump’s bid to unravel the largest federal investigation in US #history [& erase the truth of his crimes].

Bank accounts held by #Trump were closed by #CapitalOne in 2021 after it flagged financial activity that had characteristics of #MoneyLaundering, the bank disclosed in a court filing over the weekend.
The filing is tied to a lawsuit filed against CapitalOne by one of Trump’s financial holding companies shortly after he was sworn into office a 2nd time. Trump alleges CapitalOne closed his accounts for political reasons, following the #Jan6 insurrection.

#Trump claimed that intelligence agencies covered up China’s attempt to disrupt US #elections. But Trump appointed the very people who led those intelligence agencies in 2020.
Indeed, Trump was given the assessment from those agencies on Jan. 7, 2021, that no foreign country tried to change vote totals or fake ballots in the election. There’s no record of him objecting to the finding at the time.

#JaredWise, a former #Jan6 defendant [for real] who was assigned to Blanche’s team, also worked on the investigation into the Capitol #insurrection but resigned earlier this year, saying on social media that he could only “expose the abuses by the FBI & DOJ against J6 defendants” from outside government.
