New: The Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust v. Capital One, N.A. (25-cv-21596) District Court, S.D. Florida https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/69853458/the-donald-j-trump-revocable-trust-v-capital-one-na/

2013-2017 DOJ ran "Operation Choke Point" using informal pressure on banks to sever ties ("de-banking") with high-risk-for-fraud businesses like payday lenders, firearm dealers, and pornographic film producers.

2026/03/23 Doc 54 — FAC dismissed

2026/07/31 Doc 91 — Motion to Dismiss SAC for Failure to State a Claim: "We already told you, your accounts were closed because you move money around like a common money launderer."

those documents [attached to SAC] and Plaintiffs’ own allegations make clear that Capital One closed Plaintiffs’ accounts for anti-money laundering (“AML”) reasons.

p. 1

Capital One’s decision to close Plaintiffs’ accounts only became public because of Plaintiffs’ own decision to pursue this litigation.

Bank accounts held by #Trump were closed by #CapitalOne in 2021 after it flagged financial activity that had characteristics of #MoneyLaundering, the bank disclosed in a court filing over the weekend. The filing is tied to a lawsuit filed against CapitalOne by one of Trump’s financial holding companies shortly after he was sworn into office a 2nd time. Trump alleges CapitalOne closed his accounts for political reasons, following the #Jan6 insurrection. #criminal #law https://apnews.com/article/trump-capital-one-debanking-money-laundering-5f5cc717e1e011e6195bd765c8f90bad

If you didn't know that already ... "You know how we’re always saying that Trump likes to drop his lawsuits before they get to discovery? Well, he failed to do that here, and now the entire world knows that hundreds of Trump businesses - including a winery, a golf course, bottled water, a payroll company, and a real estate firm - were front companies for money laundering." https://www.muellershewrote.com/p/new-capital-one-closed-hundreds-of #TACO #Trump #fraud #corruption #moneylaundering #lawsuits #CapitalOne #Bank

"In 2019, during his first term, Trump sued Capital One and Deutsche Bank to prevent them from sharing financial records with the US Congress as part of a probe led by Democratic lawmakers. Anti-money laundering professionals at Deutsche Bank reportedly flagged a set of transactions, but executives ignored them; Deutsche Bank denied the report at the time." https://www.aljazeera.com/economy/2026/8/2/capital-one-cites-anti-money-laundering-concerns-in-trump-organization-case #TACO #Trump #fraud #corruption #moneylaundering #lawsuits #CapitalOne #Bank #DeutscheBank

Pretty telling what #CapitalOne is doing and how #TACO47 is trying hard to push through his #slushfund with the added immunity to reviews from #IRS for the entire #Trump clan. We are witnessing shameless white-collar #crime committed in broad daylight here, folks. Bigly so. #Uhmerica #UnitedStates https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/aug/01/capital-one-trump-organization-money-laundering

US Top News and Analysis | Capital One files lawsuit against alleged 'scam campaign' operators — for trademark infringement AI generated summary, Read the full article for complete information. Capital One has filed a federal lawsuit in the Eastern District of Virginia against ten unidentified “John Does” who operate large‑scale robocall and telemarketing scams that illegally use the Capital One and Discover trademarks; the complaint alleges the defendants pose as bank representatives, warning customers of suspicious charges and prompting them to confirm transactions or personal information, thereby misleading and deceiving consumers nationwide. The bank says it is leveraging trademark and false‑advertising law not only to seek damages but, more importantly, to expose and deter the perpetrators and the infrastructure that enables such imposter scams—a fraud category that generated over one million FTC complaints and $3.5 billion in losses last year. Capital One’s vice‑president of fraud strategy, Chad Miller, notes that private litigation adds a new layer of enforcement alongside regulators, allowing the company to gather information through discovery and disrupt scam networks, while experts advise consumers to stay vigilant, verify communications, and use call‑blocking tools to protect themselves. US Top News and Analysis | Savings rates drop even without Fed cuts. Here’s where you can still earn 4% on your cash AI generated summary, Read the full article for complete information. Savings rates are slipping even though the Federal Reserve kept its benchmark rate steady at 3.5%‑3.75% in its latest meeting, prompting several major banks—Capital One, Synchrony, Marcus by Goldman Sachs and Ally—to cut the APYs on their high‑yield savings accounts. Meanwhile, Bread Financial and LendingClub are still offering around 4% but are expected to trim rates soon, as they sit well above the peer median. Online banks continue to outpace traditional institutions, with 12‑month CDs from Marcus yielding 4% and shorter‑term CDs from Bread Financial and LendingClub offering 4.15%; longer‑term CDs from American Express and Sallie Mae reach 4% as well. Building a CD ladder across varying maturities can provide flexibility and higher yields, while money‑market funds remain just under 4% (the Crane 100’s 7‑day yield was 3.47% on Tuesday).
