Bank accounts held by #Trump were closed by #CapitalOne in 2021 after it flagged financial activity that had characteristics of #MoneyLaundering, the bank disclosed in a court filing over the weekend. The filing is tied to a lawsuit filed against CapitalOne by one of Trump’s financial holding companies shortly after he was sworn into office a 2nd time. The unsigned #IRS document posted by #ToddBlanche said that only #Trump, 2 of his sons & the #TrumpOrganization would be granted #immunity from audits, excluding a broader pool of Trump family members & their associates who appeared to be eligible for protection under the original #DOJ deal. What does the #law mean to a #criminal? #Trump will impose #tariffs of around 10% on goods from >80 countries Friday, its latest effort to put in place an expansive protectionist policy that has been repeatedly challenged in #court. The tariffs will range from 10% to 12.5% & take effect at 12:01AM Friday, replacing a global 10% duty set to lapse at the same time.
