The US Apache helicopter was in Iranian airspace when it was hit.
Has this simple fact been mentioned in any of the mainstream western media reporting on this latest round of escalation? Perhaps, but I haven't seen it.
A few days ago, Israel did not respond to Iranian aggression with a counter strike (as most mainstream media sources framed it). Iran was responding to Israel's ongoing aggression in southern Lebanon over the last few months, where the Israeli military has been bulldozing dozens of villages, killing well over 3,000 people (predominantly civilians), wounding more than ten thousand people, targeting (once more) medical facilities and first responders, displacing over 20% of the population, while announcing plans to make their occupation permanent. And Iran was responding specifically to Israel once more bombing a densely-populated part of Beirut.
For decades, western media have consistently misrepresented the aggressors (US-Israel) as the victims. Whenever one of the targets of their illegal expansionist/imperialist violence retaliates, this response/defence is treated as the originating act of aggression and (retrospective) _casus belli_.
History didn't start yesterday.

Its interesting that Iran shooting down one (or possibly two) US aircraft in its airspace is being treated as an 'escalation'.... Given Iran is clearly under attack from US/Israeli forces, defending its airspace is not so much an escalation as a perfectly reasonable defensive response (and certainly legal as far as international law is concerned).
But the narrative remains, whatever the media may think its doing, one that privileges the US's positioning on the 'war'!

Looking at recent history, it is clear that Western interventions in the Middle East have consistently led to greater instability and conflict. Now, once again, the USA and Israel have launched a war—this time against Iran—claiming it is to “liberate” the Iranian people and protect the world from the Islamic regime.

In less than a month since USA and Israel invaded Iran, at least 1,500 Iranians have been killed, including 200 elementary school students. The entire Middle East region has become destabilized, while the Iranian regime has responded with increased violence toward its own people and neighboring countries. USA and Israel are now explicitly threatening attacks on power plants, which will directly harm civilians and create a humanitarian catastrophe.

Finland has to support the international law and oppose USA and israel. The USA and Israel must end their invasion of Iran, and the Iranian regime must step down, allowing the Iranian people to freely choose their own government.
