Together, the filings, including from fmr #FBI & #DOJ alumni, underscore a concerted & #bipartisan pushback to the waves of terminations that have roiled the FBI in the last 1½ years.… The briefs argue the firings were illegal because agents were denied #DueProcess & punished for perceived political affiliation, & the terminations contradict decades of expectations that the bureau’s “apolitical, professional career corps of agents” can work on sensitive cases w/o putting their careers at risk.
