"We don't care what's in your pants" Whether you are cis or trans the same applies (unless you judge people by their genitals in which case, in the bin you go) Awesomeness from @ St Matthew in the City, Auckland, NZ 🇳🇿... my old university town. #Trans #NZ #NewZealand

We have cowboys in our forests. In 1993 the Samnic Waingaromia Project was launched with a prospectus offering "Invest $80k... get returns of $1.3m." The actual return was $27k and the average investor lost $50k on the deal. Now the same company has appeared before the environment court denying any responsibility for the forestry slash and debris they left behind on a 1,000ha block outside Gisborne. The court wasn't having any of it. Samnic must clean up the remaining woody debris and the directors have been held personally responsible for cleaning up the mess. Karma. https://www.stuff.co.nz/nz-news/360729581/forestry-directors-held-personally-responsible-cleaning-mess #NZ #Forestry #Samnic

Update: Almost 12 months have passed since the Environment Court ordered Samnic directors to clean up their Gisborne forestry mess. Remember the 80 or so investors who each lost $50k after being promised a $1m return? Well the three Samnic directors think those people should pick up the bill for their mismanagement. Shareholders are saying "Nah!" Enforcement seems to be a slow process. https://www.stuff.co.nz/nz-news/360981807/directors-gun-forestry-clean-demand-payment-shareholders #Samnic #NZ #Environment #Forestry

Sighted out back of the Grey St Salami in HamilTron, Aotearoa, an electric organ. Presumably left for the op shop staff to deal with. No idea if it works, but .... #HamilTron #Aotearoa #NZ #MusicalInstruments

#NZ The earliest, “extreme” effect New Zealand experiences from climate change is likely to be damage to already strained water infrastructure, the Climate Change Commission has warned in a report it is required to produce every six years on climate risks. https://www.thepost.co.nz/business/360998993/strained-infrastructure-identified-nzs-earliest-climate-threat #ClimateChange #UpheavalClimate #ClimateInstability #MassAtrocity #pollution #ecology #environment #climate

#NZ Climate-driven severe weather events were already causing "long-lasting hurt, grief and fear", and tens of thousands more people would likely be exposed to hazards by 2050, the Climate Change Commission said https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/political/594507/climate-change-commission-report-urges-decisive-action-as-major-risks-loom #ClimateChange #UpheavalClimate #ClimateInstability #MassAtrocity #pollution #ecology #environment #climate

NZ - Sovereign citizens and guns Hover or focus to reveal Sensitive
The NZ Police manual has been updated. In future, officers who encounter sovereign citizens and learn they hold a firearms licence are to refer the individuals to the Firearms Safety Authority for review. Furthermore, "... where an officer suspects an individual represents a security threat, they should contact the National Security Group at the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet." The days of treating cookers as harmless cranks are ending. https://newsroom.co.nz/2026/04/29/sovereign-citizens-firearms-licences-should-be-reviewed-police/ #NZ #SovCit #SovereignCitizen #Cookers

Please be careful about the information you share. This includes images and what may be considered video footage. Unfortunately there's now people using AI to generate artificial images (and I assume shorts) of events that may look real. Officials' warnings after AI images of Mt Maunganui slip spread online https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/585041/officials-warnings-after-ai-images-of-mt-maunganui-slip-spread-online There is NO good reason for anyone to do this. Please do not share the fake tiktok or images captures from it. #Aotearoa #NewZealand #NZ
