I also had a lovely conversation with and older lady cyclist at the supermarket. She arrived as I was attempting to strap the box to my bike, so I vacated the single cycle rack for her.
We started talking about the general lack of cycle parking in #NewPlymouth and ended up discussing the Queen St pedestrianisation project, the tim-tam cycleway and the upcoming election.
You just don't get these kinds of interactions traveling by car.
