If Farage gets his way, we'll be heading down the same path as the US even faster than we already are.

‘Whether or not #Farage takes the Clacton seat, the number of voters who chose #Binface instead may be used as ammunition by critics and comedians for the rest of his career. There is a further irony: what counts as “fringe” or “ridiculous” is constantly renegotiated. Farage himself spent years cast as a fringe obsessive before becoming one of the most consequential figures in current British politics. It’s a reminder that the boundary he polices against Binface is one he once crossed himself’

In actual fact, the Count’s policies are more attainable and make far more sense than anything Farage has said or done since being elected MP. Meanwhile the police, revenue and fraud investigations into Nigel’s money continues…… even if the parliamentary one is paused.

In light of the fact that it was said to be used to hire personal protection, Kevin Hollingrake has written to the HMRC about #Farage's £5million “I believe it is imperative that HMRC examines whether the payment falls within the ‘disguised remuneration’ regime or otherwise constitutes taxable earnings arising from an office, employment or political position. “If the payment was intended as a reward, inducement or compensation connected with Mr Farage’s roles within Reform UK, the tax treatment may be materially different from that applicable to a genuine personal gift and different to the tax status of a normal political donation (not that it was declared as such).” The tax expert Dan Neidle has already raised questions around whether the £5m should have incurred tax.
